My 2005 FZ6 was replaced by a 2003 GSXR 1000 last week. I've managed to put about 1000km already on the new machine, and I'm quite happy. I do miss my FZ6, but mainly for the fact that I was so used to it.
So, here's a small and fast comparison of the main points:
Comfort: the Gixxer...
Well, that time is slowly approaching. After enjoying the FZ6, I will be selling it this summer and moving on to a Gixxer 1000. What can I say---I want to go through the sportbike uncomfortable position while my back and my age are still compatible with such a bike. The FZ6 has given me a lot...
So, I confess, I've been having this day dreams about adding a SS to my garage sometime during the summer. What I want is to keep the FZ6 for my more relaxing rides, but have something uncomfortable yet powerful for when I want to "get crazy" :)
Initially I was thinking about a litre SS, but...
Just got in the mail the Powermadd handguards, installed them, but they hit the front fairing where the mirrors are. Unfortunately it's snowing outside right now, so I won't get the bike out and test-ride it, so I'm wondering if anyone installed these on a 2005 FZ6 with fairings. If you did...
I'm desperate to get an invite for the RacingFor.me site. Anyone can help? I promise to be eternally grateful! That would be my only means of watching races and being in touch with the sport.

Hi there,
A while ago I did the Motogiro's dual headlight mod, which was extremely easy, almost plug-and-play kinda kit that I highly recommend, I'd do the mod again in a jiffy if I didn't have both eyes open yet...
This thread is about the result though---it looks great with both...
Got a tank camera mount in the mail and decided to test it. This is the result :) Hope you enjoy it (sorry for the buzzing at idle, that's the camera leash hitting the tank I think):

Given that the right hand side pipe is the one that's getting most of the exhaust gas out (the left side is T-connected while right side is straight), most fumes go out of the right side. Even after a ride the right side is hot, left side is cool and not even warm..
That hasn't bothered me...
So, after putting it off for a couple of months, I finally got to install the RaceTech springs last night. Here's my report:
1) I am 190 lb naked, probably about 200 lb with gear.
2) Racetech 0.95 kg/mm springs installed.
3) Installed spring, then factory washer, then spacer cut to...
Got home from work last night to find an anonymous letter sent through the regular mail. It says:
"Neighbour- please have respect for your neighbours!
your noisy bike is disrespectful to us who work shifts!
our children are not safe when you speed as you do down their streets!!"
Hard to...
This was a lovely weekend with my Leo Vince exhaust. I quickly got used to the sound of the exhaust without the db-killers, and I'm not putting them in! Here are a couple of videos for you all to enjoy :)

Just wondering what Leo Vince owners do. I installed my Leos yesterday, and they are insanely loud with the db-killers out. However, after riding a bit without and then putting them in, I kinda couldn't really hear the pipes to such a degree to enjoy them so much.... but it's loud, obnoxiously...
Hi there,
I've purchased the taper roller bearings and RaceTech springs for my front suspension. I've been putting off this project for a month now and the parts are collecting dust in my basement. Shop wants to charge me about 5-6 hours of work to replace the bearings and the springs...
Searched around and couldn't find anything: when I'm sitting on the bike and look down, I see beautiful and clean stuff. Right in the middle of it---the butts of the headlights (sockets, whatever it's called). Anyone thought of kinda covering that somehow?
ETA of my new Leos: Friday
However....

Can I buy a PC III from eBay for some other kind of bike, and then just download the maps for FZ6 and install it? Or it has to be specifically the PC III for FZ6?! What's the difference, maybe the harness and connectors or what? If that, can those be bought separately?
Looked around and...
Hi there, looking for fellow FZ6 owners in/around Hamilton. I live up the mountain, would love to meet with you during the weekend or some evening for a Timmie coffee or something, weather (and wife :p) permitting of course ;)
