My son and I rode Palomar (Video)

looks like a pretty good clip you got going on! Can't wait to get down to SD. Can't make the September ride though :(

At last PM from Smokenu (Dave) A.C. has been picked for Sept 12, but it might not be good because of the recent or future fires.
I know some of the SoCal Riders group canceled some rides because of the fires.
I'll give a hollar if I think I'm going to be in your neck of the woods and maybe we can hook up but still feel free to PM/call me if you think you might get down here for a ride.

Yeah, we had fun!

Great video... I have a silly question about the road surfaces. In the video it shows a lot of cracks in the road. Here it can be caused by the ice treatments and sometimes extreme heat that buckles the road surface. Either way it usualy ends up resulting in a road surface you have to watch because of raised surfaces, depressions, or the tar repairs. You guys have to worry about any of that?

If there are fresh (Tar Snakes?) they might be a little soft but those are very solid and there is no noticeable variation that would upset anything. There are different areas of the road that do have variations that could cause a problem but that's part of learning the course and being alert. There can be rock fall and in fact I pulled off that day to clean up some rocks that came down in an area that could catch someone off guard. Our tires are hot and sticky in this video and we could push it a lot faster but we like to keep some assemblage of safety and buffer for the unforeseen.

Thanks,
Cliff

My son has been here for 2 weeks on holiday and we got to do a few rides for the first time. He has a Honda 600rr at home in Jersey but we borrowed a Ducati Monster fro a friend of mine. We stuck the Gopro Cam on it and did a little ride up Palomar.

Edit: Keep your volume down cuz the music is loud!

Enjoy!
