I have been going on now for a while about trying to wheelie. James has IMO given me the best advice to date.
I was coming home from work and was filtering like a devil to get to the front of the traffic.
Just as I got to the front of the que the lights switched to green. I was doing about 10mph and already in first. I set off and cracked open the throttle, immediately the front got light. I was wearing a back pack of about 25lbs. I just lent back and held on. The front got about two feet of the floor and stayed there until the limiter kicked in.
So to conclude:
I have realised that a) I was not previously openeing the throttle agressively enough. b) I was not transfering enough weight backwards.
Honestly with my weight back the front just flew up at around 10,000 rpm.
I can't wait to go and practice on a more appropriate surface and closed area.

There's a nice straight piece of road out the front of my house.

I have a digital camera.

Come on Neil!!!! The first FZ6 forum realtime wheelie. We can get it loaded up within seconds of you doing it.

Then you can show me how to do it!!!!!!:rockon::rockon::rockon:

SQUID = Stupid, quick, under dressed & instantley dead.

A homeboy could be good or bad, depends on the context.
That homeboy popped a cap in my arse = bad
My homeboy popped a cap in his arse = good

your my hommie = good
your my ho mo = who's buying dinner and your place or mine.

I had a very similar experience this morning. I took off from a light trying to get ahead of another bike and really got on the gas and didn't let off. I felt the front lift up and stay there until I got to the redline.

I was a bit freaked at first, but once I realised what was happening it was cool. I'm planning on doing a trackday later this summer so maybe I'll get a chance to practice a bit more then.
