Went to Yamaha demo days today - test rode FZ8 (naked).
Overall impressions:
Pros:
- Very nice fat midrange
- Seating position is great
- More torque then FZ6
- Bike feels shorter (similar feel to my FZ6 when it was converted to naked) and therefore more hooliganish and flickable
- I got to test dealership showcase one which had whole bunch of rizoma updates - very nice
Cons:
- Most uncomfortable stock seat ever
- Did not feel like upgrade to my FZ6 (it has LV pipes, K&N filter and PCIII)
Conclusion:
If you are in the market for FZ6 - give FZ8 a call, much more rounded bike in stock form and feels like FZ6 should've felt from the factory.
If you are looking to upgrade and prefer FZ line - I'd look at FZ1.
