A local shop is running a special for front and rear mounted and balanced for 250.
They are a sport touring tire.
Anyone have experience with this tire or think this is a good deal?
Hi Guys, had my first track day at Carolina Motorsports Park, SC.
Around 19 people showed up and I learned that I suck in so many levels on track.
Luckily I didn't fall, but went out of the track around 4 times, (3 times being the same spot).
Started my day at 9 am, I was exhausted by 3pm, is...
The bike started leaning on my left once I leave the handlebar (even with old tire) and
I got my new M-PR4 for rear with 36-38 psi and after the tire is balanced, there are much more vibrations compared to previous tire when I remove my hands off of the handlebar. I'll add some air in the front...
For kicks I measured the roll out distance of of NEW and USED tire to see how it impacts speedometer error during tire life. Specifically a Battlax BT023 rear tire inflated but worn into center wear bars and the new tire inflated to the same 37PSI but never ran on the bike.
Used mounted 37PSI...
As many miles as I've logged on a bike and I've never actually picked out tires. On my last bike I just went with what was on there because they seemed good (perelli sport demons). Now the Dunlop Q3's on my recently acquired FZ6 are 5 years old and, tread or not, in need of replacement. The vast...
The Metzeler Roadtec Z8 I put on the bike approx 2Yrs ago has run over 10K miles and I think it is time to change them. It has a bit of tread left(especially the rear), but I want to replace the tires at the same time and the front ones have a weird profile on them now. So, I wanted to checkin...
Hey all,
I see a huge number of tire posts on here and am still a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff. I just got an email from Cycle Gear with what seemed like a decent deal on some bridgestone BT-016 Pro tires for $179 + install. I don't track my bike and just mainly ride the city...
Rear BT-023 is done.... What next? Any picks from the B'Stone gang or is it time to switch teams?!?! Up front the 016 pro is in good shape for 2015.
Bike's at 21k now, installed the 023 around 2013-08, so it roughly 7X00 miles :don'tknow: --> Old post from Aug 2013
FWIW: Very predictable...
Is it okay to run two different tires brands on my FZ or is it just taboo?
Basically, I only need a rear tire and don't want to use the same brand... My front tire is still in great condition.
Should I just bite the bullet and buy two new tires, same brand?
Went to CycleGear and saw my 2 choices in tires next to each other and was very surprised how much wider the Angel is than the PR4.. It was like it was a completely different tire size, I pulled them both down and checked the sidewall to be sure they are both 180/55/17 and sure as heck are...
I had a flat late last week and found myself " pluggin it for "temporary" use (hoping to stretch it out another 1K miles). As I closely inspect my tires upon getting home I realized what looked to me as a box cutter slash marks!! I'm like WTF, bad enough to slash anyone's tires....but on a...
Pirelli has published a technical guide which lays out its own recommended tire pressure for each of their tires specific to every motorcycle.
For example I'm running their basic Pirelli Diablo street tire and here's Pirelli's pressure for the FZ6:
Front 2.50 bar / 36.26 psi
Rear 2.9 bar /...
I've been noticing my bike doesn't really want to take turns like it used to.
It is a weird feeling. I am about to make a turn and I can normally feel the bike want to take it no problem but this new feeling is like the tire wants to keep rolling straight.
I have checked the pressure of my...
I went to a tire shop today to change the blown out rear tire. I put on a new pirelli diablo rosso 2 tire. Tire guy said that the cush rubbers need to change soon, i took a closer look and saw that the joints in between, were ruptered. (Bike has 35k kilometres)
Just right after the installation...

I have recently purchased the Michelin Pilot Road 3s and its time for a new rear tire. I currently have about 5500 miles on the set and the rear is beginning to have a flat spot. The miles have been put on the tire riding two up. I weigh 170 and my passenger weighs 120. Would it benefit me...
All,
After seeing all the threads about correcting the speedo error, top speed, tires, and how fast will an FZ go, I had to look a bit deeper. With that here is a formula that should give you the corrected speed based upon gear selection, sprocket choice, and tire diameter.
Obviously tire...
Hey, i searched for a thread about tire stores to no avail so i decided to finally ask. Does anyone know of a good store to buy tires from that doesnt have a horrible return policy, bad customer service, and wont give you old tires. I was also wondering if the tire warranty is worth it. Lastly i...
On my XJ750 I was able to put the bike on the center stand and use a car jack on the frame so that I can change the front tire. However, the FZ just has pipes down there. I was wondering what you guys do to support the front when taking the tire off.
Thanks,
Chris Maness
