    Clutch not disengaging

I recently got my '05 FZ6 engine running. As I started doing preliminary checks, I found the clutch wasn't disengaging. I adjusted the cable as far as it would go and still no disengagement. So, I pulled the clutch apart and found that there was heat damage to all of the metal plates...

    Crankcase Repair and Clutch Adventures

I bought my '05 FZ6 a few months ago for a good deal. It has 45,000 miles, but runs well. Unfortunately, I didn't see the crankcase repair done with JB Weld (which was seeping). After a more thorough inspection, I found the jacked up repair (with a quarter in it for good luck). I appears...

Hoping new levers and cable lube helps!

I've ridden my "new to me" 2007 FZ6 a handful of times so far in a the past few weeks. I've noticed the stock levers are pretty awkward for me. I naturally try to 2-3 finger the clutch lever, as it feels more natural, but just end up squishing the rest of my knuckles. Plus, I don't have huge...

    Chevyfazer done did it again...

I blew it the F*** UP!!! Trying to drift it with a busted up clutch in no second gear. Somehow in the process the tranny got locked up and me popping the clutch ditched the chain and did this... I have a tennis ball size hole in my crankcase and this crazy SOB is gonna try to weld it up!!!

Spinning grind then clunk from neutral

A similar thread was just posted but I'm having the same issues simply from when the bike gets started in neutral and put into first gear. It's almost like putting it into gear without using the clutch. There is a grinding spinning sound then clunk, it's in gear. I pull in the clutch and my...

Clutch cable too short or spring deteriorated?

So, to start on Monday just setting off from work and shifting up through 2nd then into 3rd the clutch cable snapped right a the lever - which was a learning experience to try and deal with and an horriffic sound from stalling the bike in that gear as I came to a safe stop. Had a new one...

    FZ6 Clutch Rebuild

I'm posting this thread because I didn't want to hijack the other clutch thread. :spank: I'm wondering if anyone here has done a clutch rebuild, and if so, what parts they used. I'm not 100% certain I need to replace the clutch itself (I still need to do a cable inspection), but the last time...

Bike won't start in gear, clutch in

Just noticed this starting to happen on a 3 day camping trip. I had expected the bike to start when having the clutch lever pulled in while in gear with the kickstand up. Presuming at this point it is the small switch attached to the clutch perch or connections. Any other possible reasons...

Engine Clacking Noise - Cracked Clutch Damage

NOTE: I'm updating this thread and getting the broken pictures working again. Standby. This thread details my diagnosis and repair of a cracked clutch plate and the damage it caused. The pieces got munched by the primary gear between the crankshaft and clutch basket. It produced a sound...

    Clutch Cable Length?

Hey guy I have a 03 R6... :scared: lol anyways I'm putting a new top triple with risers for a more comfortable streetfighter so I'm gonna need a new clutch cable. The normal way to proceed now is to order a custom cable from motion pro problem solved. However because I live in Canada...

New clutch cable fitted - but now will not disengage

Good afternoon all. I appreciate there have been a few threads on above mentioned topic, but after reading probably all of them I am no closer to getting my bike working again. So a few weeks back I am out on my way to my club meet, and at the lights, my lever under hand went very loose...

Clutch adjuster at lever not enough at full extension

Hi all, I bought a new clutch cable about 6 months ago. Clearly the cable has been stretching over time and has settled down now, but as my clutch adjuster is at near maximum, and that the centre adjuster is as far as it will safely go whilst still being connected, I have nowhere else to go if...

Ever heard of these? Cheap short levers

I was thinking about getting some shorty brake/clutch levers. I typically 2 finger most grabs and just like the aesthetics of some black levers on my raven 09 fz6. I found this site and it seems somewhat sketchy, but has excellent pricing. Seems like knockoff Pazzo or w/e they're called. What do...

To Downshift or Not to Downshift? That is the Question.

A friend of mine insists that downshifting to a stop is a waste of energy and your clutch. I maintain that when it is safe to do so, utilizing engine braking is a good thing. Certainly the cost of a clutch is more expensive than the cost of brake pads. Any thoughts?

    Group Buy: Magura Hydraulic Clutch

Magura USA has lowered their MSRP for a single unit to $330 now. I may do that, but I wanted to see if anyone's interested in a group buy. They'll sell for $275 if we can put together five interested parties. Skooter65 put together a group buy last year and it sounds like everybody was pretty...
