I have that same voltage gauge on my Buell. I put it in an empty space inside the gauge cluster so it looks factory and is sealed. I don't think there is enough space anywhere in the FZ6 cluster though, especially the first gen digital one.
I had nitrogen in my FZ6 tires back in the day when I worked at a Ford dealer just because I did it for free during a slow period. I did not notice a difference at all.
The one thing the nitrogen filling there had going for it was the warranty. They charged something ridiculous like $100...
Wow that is a bent rim! What exactly happened to cause it? I had a blowout on the highway once (guess its considered a blowout, my valve stem got ripped out by something) but it didn't damage my rim. I think the companies will try to pass the blame around. Best of luck, but I think the best...
I haven't actually ridden one but I have to agree with the majority here, the headlights kill it for me. I wasn't really a fan of the old style headlights but I like them better than the new ones. That being said I haven't heard anyone come off riding one that didn't like it.
You have to remove the sidestand to get the centerstand off the first time because the bolts go in from the outside. When you are jamming the bolts in to use the centerstand for a quickie, just put the left-side bolts in with the bolt heads towards the center of the bike. You don't need the...
Think I'd be able to get in the group buy for non-FZ sizes? My Buell could use some HID action, but I need to do some measuring and whatnot first, so January would be perfect.
That is a ton of miles, I am pretty sure he bought it new since he got one of the last 2010 models. It gives me high hopes for the XB12Scg I just bought. I am liking it so far.
Haha, I was thinking the exact opposite, I like the one above it better. I like the angular headlight with the angular bodywork. That is what makes changing your bike so much fun though, everyone has different ideas about what they like.
I checked around on craigslist for postings to get an idea for prices before I went to check out the Buell. I saw regular pricing from $2400 up to $4000, with the higher priced ones being low mileage 07- models. There were plenty of listings going back into September that were still not sold...
So my true wishy-washiness shows through; I just ordered some bar-end mirrors. I do like how they look, I just always thought it would be weird having to lift my hand off the grip instead of sliding it. For example when waving, I am a very lazy person and usually slide my hand off the bar...
I think I only got 50 MPG once, all highway back when I had stock gearing. I always played in the throttle too much, and when I went -1/+2 there was no way.:BLAA:
I snapped some pictures on the way home from work tonight; I took them at the same place as the FZ picture was taken, so you can...
I had supersprox sprockets on my FZ and had no problems with them. Only the rear is the Al/Steel mix, the front is just steel. I never had any worries about it separating or anything like that. I did not get my new chain from them, I bought one at the local Suzuki shop since I was going on a...
So it was a tough decision to make, but I ended up trading in my beloved FZ6 this weekend.
Like some others have done, I traded it in for a Buell. A 2005 XB12Scg to be precise. I think that makes 4 or 5 of us that have done the same thing.
I never had any problems with the FZ, I...
That is a good writeup of how to change your chain and sprockets, but where is the sidestand mod for lowered bikes?:BLAA:
FWIW with my -1/+2 sprockets (opposite of you guys I know) I run 8000 RPM at 80 MPH.
If you go from S to naked there are two options for bar-mounted mirrors. You can get clamps that go around the bars that are threaded for mirrors (something like this), or you can buy a clutch perch from a naked FZ for the left mount and tap the boss on your brake master cylinder for your right...
I will be feeling your pain soon I fear. We have had highs in the 50s for the last few days, and raining. If you look to the east our mountains already have snow on them.:(
