hey guys i need some help for my boyfriend for xmas, pwease!

YAMAHA FZ6 FAZER 600 - Deluxe seats, petrol tank covers, tank bags [Rates for an order from : FRANCE]

But don't "design your own" just get one of the ones on the right side. The counter says there are only so many but that's just a gimmick it never runs out. You save a bit of money that way.

Get a Type 1 Deluxe. It is great.

You should be able to get one for like $300 shipped I think. Order ASAP though because it's coming from France. If you order off the right side there those are pre-made so it won't take long. But still. Order sooner rather than later.

:welcome:lilchicka! to the forum!

Make sure you get him to join up with us!

.

How do you know if he hasn't joined already and he's reading this very thread as we speak? Big credit to Lilchicka for finding this forum, kind of silly if he hasn't joined, and she did. Ha Ha...

Not sure what part of Texas you live in, but if you live in one of the major cities, try finding the nearest Cycle Gear Store. It's a big motorcycle parts and apparel store.

I have to agree, the TS Seat would be an awesome thing to get which both of you would enjoy, but I don't think you would receive it before Christmas since it is a customed made item and it has to come from Europe.

I got mine in like a week. Order it from the pre-made ones at the right side of the order page.

+1 on buying the pre-made saddles. Also, get the gel insert option if you ride with him. We got it in mine and my wife loves the extra padding on longer rides. And make sure you buy one of their seat pans... this way you don't have to ship them yours, and you can replace the stock seat when you go to sell the bike (in the future...if ever).

Good luck, and let us know how you make out...

And I agree with Lone. I ordered and got mine in the 7-10 day time frame.

If I was you I'd rather get something for him and not his bike. An MSF course if he's a new rider or a year's order of some good motorcycle magazine. Or maybe a gift card to a local driving gear store?

Get him a piggybank. Tell him for every gallon gas he pumps in his tank, to calulate the difference in price between the "super" grade and the "regular" grade (the FZ6 runs great on regular grade and doesn't need super or Viagra, etc.). Then, tell him to deposit this amount (remember, every gallon of regular he pumps means more piggybank money). After awhile, the deposits will amount to a huge sum and he can take you out (on the FZ6, of course) for a fabulous seven-course dinner at the most expensive, or best restaurant in Texas. Suggest this one in Dallas:

Totally agree, like the idiot that suggested

Top Saddlery seat, New slip on exhaust, Steel braided lines, HID bulbs

:P

Naked conversion affects the ride itself. Wind protection is sacrificed, and it is a big decision with respect to aesthetics.

Top Saddlery seat only has benefits.
Slip on exhaust has only benefits.
Steel braided lines have only benefits.
HID bulbs have only benefits.

Sure you could argue the exhaust might have cons for someone with very sensitive ears, and HID bulbs some people dislike because they hate annoying other vehicles. But in those instances you could easily find out with a cloaked question to the rider.

Naked conversion is a major change to the functionality of the motorcycle and truly an overhaul to the aesthetics. It is probably the single biggest visual overhaul you could do.

A seat with some red trim is not the same thing.
The 4 inches of pipe you see out the back end is not the same thing.
Brighter lights are not the same thing.
Higher quality braking system is not the same thing.

However, I think we can all attest to the fact that we are quite picky on exhaust/seat/HIDs (maybe not steel lines), and would not want someone else choosing for us.

Everyone has a favorite exhaust note and look. Imagine if she got him a X exhaust, when he likes the sound/look of the Y better? Also, even if he is set on the sound, alum/carbon/titanium? Many choices.

The seat is a great gift, as they all are, but again I'd want the person to know EXACTLY what I want and don't want on the seat. Maybe he'd like some colored trim, FZ6 symbol, or maybe he wants a less obvious look. Tough.

HIDs are similar. Angel Eyes? Brightness (3000k, 5000k, etc)? Color/tinting? Dual mod?

All tough choices and high dollar decisions to make. If you know what he wants exactly, maybe bring it into conversation, than by all means pull the trigger. Just consider how many options there are available to you/him, and that most of us are very picky.

Just sayin!

I say you win the exhaust argument. A man should pick his own exhaust note. Same with HIDs. I'll give you those two.

Steel braided brake lines are just an upgrade. Period. Full stop. Everyone on a motorcycle would jump at free steel lines for their machine.

As for better seat, you are talking about trivial things like stitching colour. With that reasoning nobody should ever get a Christmas present EVER.

Why do you want to steal Christmas? You're a horrible person. The children will cry and pout. Do you have no compassion for the children? Good God man!

Thing about the Top Saddlery seat is even if he didn't want it for his regular riding (if he likes sliding around in the saddle when cornering and finds the seat too grippy for example {which it isn't for me, but I wear jeans when I ride}....or if he doesn't like the colour of the stitching? Lol...really?) he can always leave his stock one on except for the random time every couple months he goes for a longer ride. Or he can throw it on when he wants and take it off whenever. It takes all of 2.7 seconds to change seats.

A seat or brake lines stand as good gifts.

I can take exhausts and HIDs off the table.

I was just brainstorming. Not everything that comes out of my mouth is a good idea. Hell, MOST of what comes out of my mouth isn't a good idea, haha. But still, the reasoning stands.
