You're just asking for it, aren't ya........Thats a good idea, its better to go for a casual ride which can be 2 minutes, or 2 hours depending how you feel, rather than going somewhere, otherwise your stuck with a whole trip there and back even if you feel uncomfortable!
Just remember if you get on the bike and feel the urge to buy something else... like an XJR1300 you've probably suffered undiagnosed mental damage and should see a doctor asap!
On the bright side if this does happen as long as your staying with a Yamaha the damage can't be too bad!
You could also do some practice runs! Wheel the bike out into the driveway, give it a quick clean/polish, then jump on and pretend your riding, although I would advise against trying to lean as it may end badly.
Not only will you become reaccustomed to your bike, but you'll also give everyone in the neighborhood some entertainment!
Loud Vroooming noises may help to keep it realistic.
(Don't tell Prebstar and Humpy, but, after riding the XJR, it's REALLY nice to ride
