I can't ride with out splitting, the difference it makes in time is about 20 minutes if I'm on the bike or in the truck. on the bike on a Friday (are any other day) if I'm not riding to illegal I can make it to work in just under 40 min. if I'm in the truck on a Friday it can take over an hour, an hour and fifteen minutes normally. the rest of the week about 55 min. I would split traffic even if it were illegal after all I got places I gotta be!!!:D

Around here that will cost you $200.00 and you'll also have a place to go when you appear before the Judge.....he,he,he

The other thing you don't have to worry about is people that will literally run you over for attempting it. No, I am not kidding........

OT comment here...Doorag is freaking me out. His profile says he's from London, but he's got a tattered Confederate flag as his avatar. Weird.

Dumb question, Doorag...you DO know what that flag represents, right?

I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and I'm fully aware of what that flag represents. The information doesn't ask where you are from, it only asks where you live. I've only been in the UK for about 8 years. I've lived all over the US in my time: Memphis, Nashville, Dallas, Chicago, Boulder CO, Phoenix, Anchorage AK, and a few others - and I'm not even a millitary brat.

Splitting or filtering as we call it is perfectly legal here in the UK under prescribed traffic conditions.
The problem is a minority of car drivers who see you in their mirrors and deliberately pull across the lane to stop you from passing. They hate to see anyone getting somewhere before them.
It's juvenile and futile because I'm still gonna get past them.

Ya just can't stop a bike with a rider that knows what he/she is doing. One way or the other the bike always gets around the obstacle.

That is so true. Even moped riders are figuring this out. I saw a moped in front of me trying to sneak off to the right side (curb side) to turn right. Some guy moved to the curb to block her. She just walked the moped on to the sidewalk and proceeded to walk it right down to the intersection. She got on it by the cut away for the crosswalk and rode off down the street. I was laughing my butt off at the sight of this. The guy in the car was trying to do everything in his power to block her, and she just casually went on the sidewalk. She did not even seem fazed by this. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I read this and was LMAO because it's exactly the kind of thing I was referring to. I hope that guy in the cage was smoking hot cause he couldn't even stop a moped. Too funny....

Thanks for sharing that one....

HavBlue,

I could not really see the guy in the car that well, but I could see the car rock around. I could kind of make out some words the guy was screaming, mostly the F bombs were loud enough to hear. I was laughing at first mainly because of the girl just walking her moped to the corner! I mean she just circumvented like five or six cars in 10 seconds. She never looked at the guy in the car. I would not have had that much restraint, i most likely would have given him a rude gesture. It took a few minutes to fully comprehend what had happened. As it sank in I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes and almost drove past work! The thought of it still brings forth a chuckle. I still wonder if the guy in the car soiled his pants, he was really yelling.
