Okay, so I let a buddy of mine take my bike for a spin last friday. The piece of road that he drove has a series of long stretches of up to 3-4 km each.

When he turned around, he had gone more than 10 km in one direction. He took the bike up to the range of 190km/h @ 12-13.000 rpm's. I could hear my bike the whole time

This was actually the first time I had heard my bike from the sideline after I put the devil cans on, and I'm in no doubt that I now need to put the silencers back in... The noice was insane

A tip for everyone with aftermarket cans: Let someone test drive your bike so that you can get an idea of what it sounds like:thumbup:

I know mine is loud. I had a friend mill some plates to put in instead of the two bros tips, just to see what the sounds are like, but it doesn't work that way because the 2Bros tips a conical and shape the sound where these plates do not and allow the pipe to "bark" if you will. So, it appears I'll have to buy a tip after all.

I know the feeling. I also have the Devil cans with baffles removed and a midpipe. My friend rode it down the street and back and i could hear it the whole time. I could even tell what gear he was in. But i cant bring myself to put the baffles back in i just LOVE the way it sounds. I mean they are called Devil for a reason arent they? :rockon:

Is there a noise law out there? Here, they've been cracking down... 106 db in NH period. I don't know what RPM it is measured at but it is 45 degrees off the tip at 23" out.

The Devil's on the 6 are incredible though!

I seem to remember reading somewhere it is measured at 3000 Rpm's. (don't quote me on that though... and that was down here in Oz).

After 3 very loud bikes, I'm really enjoying the stock exhaust on the FZ6

But I do agree, the aftermarket pipes sound sweet. Heard a set this weekend, not even sure the make, but the tone was deep and mean. For now it isn't what I want for my ride but man o man do they sing a pretty tune.

Nah... I wouldn't lend it to anyone, only people that I know are good riders and that I can trust. Besides: "You wreck it, you pay it"
