    News from the Road

Just did the 850 km trip to the folks place in Gippsland Victoria. Saw all conditions and had a tail wind for many kilometres. Lost a good pair of runners courtesy of loose 'OCCY STRAPS' and a small manbag (despatch bag Aussie Disposals) came over the rear left pipe and got burnt. Now here is...

Starting work on my radiator repairs today, post some pics later on the damage and just had a look at the map. I am doing research in the Mallee and have rented a place in a town called Woomelang. Thought I might put a ride together to meet some Croweaters when the weather cools down (or the...

    Hit a Wallaby Friday night

Riding in the dark at Halls Gap Friday night I hit a Wallaby at about 80kph. It was a dumb place to be riding on a hot summers night as it is a national park. Various circumstances lead me to be doing it and I have paid the price. Strangely I stayed upright. I didn't lock the brakes or swerve...

    Steering - Your Opinion Please

I have recently spent a couple of thousand miles on a heavy bike with a rake somewhat longer than the FZ6. Getting back on the Fizzer I am finding very light steering, lighter than I remember. I know people have had trouble with bearings, does this make the steering heavier when they are...

    Aftermarket exhaust and staying upright.

Spoke to some lawyers in Houston who are on a thread about bike mods and crashes. Seems some insurance companies are looking closer and closer at the machines turning up bent. Consequently I would like to graph a hypothesis I am working on, just my slant on their thinking. Please don't answer...

    2010 Kilometres

I guess I travel more than I mod. This year is nearly over, how far have you travelled on your Yamaha this year in our big, brown land? or.... The Aussie Only Tyre Survey with a Poll

There has been a lot of talk about 'don't buy new tyres in summer because they wear quicker' and Pilot Road 2's get the best milage etc etc. But....... at 12,000km, my Bridgestone 21's are getting there. Second set of tyres on the bike and the original 20's got 14,000 km and were square. Now...
