It's here early! I'm waiting for this rain to subside so I can ride this baby! I expected higher pricing, so this isn't bad. It will all come down to the ride though of course :)
(sorry for the dodgy phone camera image!)
Bit the bullet after this morning's chilly ride. Thought I'd post a few pics and details.
Packaging is great as is the instructions. The grips are a tad oversize in internal diameter so you can slip them on easily and test your lining up before gluing on. The way I've positioned them is the...
Anyone removing their 02 sensor with the PCIII install? I know the PCV has it in the installation manual as needing to be disconnected, but not the PC3 manual hence I left it intact.
Had a mechanic say I should remove it but I'm doubtful.
This kind of environment is not wallet-friendly :) BTW if anyone wants some hi-tech computer stands like mine, I'll post a thread up on how to build your own :D
Caught up to a guy last night on the way home on a 696. Had a good dozen 'traffic light races' with him and was surprised at his speed!
We were just doing the old race up to eg 80km, then back to the limit (70). If I jumped off the lights then I had no problems jumping ahead, but if I bogged...
Before I do my dyno run I'm keen to try some of the Power Commander maps. Does anyone know if I use the regular versions of the maps, or the "European" version?
The numbers are dramatically different.
Ok very weird this. I'm just back from a 2 day 1300km trip on my FZ. Had a blast up through Thunderbolts and then the John Oxley for those of you in Oz, to Port Macquarie.
Here's the situation. I was previously running the stock tyres, the slippery BT020s, with FZ1 bars and lowered the front...
I was at Yamaha today and they had a cutaway R6 engine. It could be a 2000 model, but it looks otherwise close. Only difference I could see was the clutch actuator arm at the opposite side....
Anyone else spot the differences?

Got these on Ebay but thought I'd pop them up here as well. I bought these early this year to replace my old waterproof boots. But with this crazy weather, I'm using my older ones more than these! I also find that the venting on the Vortices is top notch, but on the very crisp mornings...
Thought I'd share a pic that may help you decide if you want to go shorty or standard length on your lever purchase.
Because my last ride was a motard, I became acustomed to 2-finger clutch action. It's all I can use now, not a bad thing on the FZ6.
This is a shorty, and it's fairly easy to...
I'm sure a lot have already done this, but I just removed my pillion footpegs and helmet lock, and weighed the offending hardware at 1.3kg (about 3lbs). Nice.
I was impressed that access to the footpeg brackets is so easy, and that they aren't a part of any attachments (eg to exhaust hangers...
Just thought I'd let you guys know we're about to announce a 20% Off sale for these products, which ties in nicely with me about to order both!
Leos:
Aluminium were $1139, now $911.20
Titanium were $1176, now $940.80
Carbons were $1496, now $1196.80
It's not ebay pricing, but it's closer in...
Anyone here ridden it on the FZ? -1 front is too low I'm sure, wondering if you'd simply return to stock, or go even higher?
Does the bike accept a 17t front?
Can't find the answers simply, so thought I'd post.
What's the verdict on improving compliance? I find the stock setup to be great on smooth surfaces, but the rebound and compression is nowhere on bumpy corners.
I figure there are 3 ways to go:
Internal mods to the standard shock and...
I needed to adjust my rear brake pedal position with the clevis. As such, it's changed the point at which the switch activates the brake light. Luckily taking more movement to activate than less.
Any tips on adjusting the switch? I haven't had a chance to pull the rearset plate off entirely...
Thought I'd just list here as it's a local offer!
My FZ6 is 335km old today, but I need to replace the tires. I'm planning on some spirited sport riding and a track day soon, and the sport-touring Bridgestone BT020Rs that come on the bike are not suited.
Is anyone interested in these at...
