The theoretical max magnification is over 600 times. That is almost meaningless since the image breaks down long before that. Most observing is down between about 60x and maybe 200x. The reason people get big scopes is to look at very faint objects. I like to look at galaxies from 2 to 50 million light years away.

I noticed on your pic a big windscreen. Where did you get it?

The windscreen is a CalSci +9.5. I wrote a mini review somewhere on this site. I love it. Yesterday, I was doing 70-80 on a highway with gusty cross wind and trucks. With the stock screen, I would have been doing 45 mph and would have been scared to death
