I guess the '07s and up have the helmet lock... because I have one on my '09 even though I never cared to use it...

I dislike the seat... That would be the only thing I would really like to change...

The FZ6 is dead smooth compared to my Versys.. which feels like a paint mixer by comparison...

The other big thing about the Versys is the horrible fairing buzz...but that might be a kawasaki thing....my Z750S did the same, just not as bad as the Versys

Hmm.. I think my biggest gripe with the bike was the turbulence/noise with the stock fairing. Fixed it by converting to streetfighter :D
That also addressed the sport bike look *issue*.

Clutch is definitely and issue in heavy traffic, otherwise it doesn't bother me one bit.

Buzzing.. I think I've gotten used to it.. doesn't bother me much anymore.

I find the pegs and stock seat to be very comfortable :don'tknow:

This really is an amazing bike over all.

I can't stand the "orange" light in the tach at night! My toyota truck has the same, its almost enough to force me to look for a different make, arrrghghg!!! :Flip: Night dials should have white digits on a black background, lit with white light or backlit, nothing more.
I wish the seat were a bit more comfortable (I'll be rectifying that soon), the cooling fan is susceptible to loose gravel, and I wish there was more leg-room (I have a 37" inseam) but otherwise I can't complain about a thing. The narrow clutch range was a problem for me at first, but for quick-shifting once you're up to speed, its fantastic.

I'm actually grinning as I sit and I don't even like to ride my bike to/from work but I did today. 50+ miles round trip.

Amazingly a whole lotta buzz is GONE! From Aligning the rear wheel!
http://www.600riders.com/forum/how-tos/40463-how-string-align-your-rear-wheel.html

Everyone here who complains about 5k or 6k buzz on the highway - I urge you to string align the rear wheel! Mine had some very minor buzz and now ITS ALL GONE!!!! Smooth as silk at all speeds! Its like it transformed the bike and I didn't even have an issue with it having a buzz!

Its worth a try at least. . . .

As for the list:
The soft front springs
Choppy throttle // chain and throttle cable are properly adjusted. . .
The seat angle bad for boys with its slant
1 low beam
Lack of storage space

I can fix all but the throttle issue and the space thing for cheap. Mind you i'm not into bags on it. . .

I love the bike for the cost; A Great Machine!!!

Funny how a list of dislikes is easier and shorter to compile than a list of likes!

Agreed about the clutch,front forks,stock seat,buzz,exhaust.

Fixed the seat issue, fixed the exhaust issue, getting used to riding with partial feeling in a lot of body parts! Forks next, then brake lines...

The ONLY thing that I don't like is that it runs out of fuel :D

Seriously, that's the ONLY thing about her I don't like

I love my bike

The only things I didn't like was the seat and the forks. Both were easy fixes. My transmission took a long time to break in but other then neutral to first it's now silky smooth. I like the clutch.

For a street bike it sort of sucks, and for a track bike it sorta sucks lol.

The fun zone is not until like 8k.. hardly practical for average street riding.

for the track, suspension is weak sauce and pegs are low.

Bars are in a retarded position as well.
edit:
one more, the brakes suck ass. even with ss lines.

No helmet lock is pretty lame. I rigged one up w/ a hose clamp under the seat though and it works very well haha. Other than that I love my FZ6

The transmission isn't ever smooth when riding, ever...EVER....EVER!!!

Aside from that, everyone should have this in their FZ6 survival kit:

New Seat

New Windshield

New 'Anti-Dent in Tank' option

26 year old knees

26 year old shoulders

26 year old wrists and hands

and this:

I changed just about everything I didn't like about the bike.

I run the fz1 bars, massive improvement no more wrist pain.

I had my fork springs changed and added gold valves, great improvement I can break now without my front diving a ridiculous amount. Also, I used to get some motion sickness when riding my bike before and that is gone.

I have a two bros exhaust.

I changed out the pegs for rearsets.

I run the naked-kit you can get from one of the posters here, which i like much more.

I switched to bar-end mirrors. I really enjoy having a full view of the front with no blockage coupled with the naked-kit it.

The power commander V smooths out the throttle.

I am pretty happy with my bike right now.

I fixed most of my issues too. It came with a helmet lock, I put Rizoma handlebars and the rearset setback plates which fixed the low peg/bad angle issues altogether, and I swapped out the seat for a spencer modded one.

I'm probably building my own exhaust here before long. I was inspiried by a post I read on here.

As far as the twitchy throttle, I ride into base every morning, so I get 5-15 minutes of clutch work practice each day.
