water pump seal

Hi i recentley changed my coolant and after a ride i noticed a little bit of coolant drip from underneath the water pump. its never done it before. only thing i touched on the water pump was the drain screw.. if that seal goes inside the water pump i know it drips from the weep hole but my question is... will the water pump still work and i loose a bit of coolant.. or will it stop the water pump from working

The water pump will still work but better to find the leak/repair it.

It'll work but will leak more with time/use.

Replace that mechanical seal the sooner, the better.

Start by replacing the crush washer. Its a one time use item.

I've gotten several uses out of mine (still original) but the leak could indeed be from there.

i tightened the drain screw up a touch more and the leak has stopped. so im going to change the washer.. thanks guys
