The "Off Topic" thread...

sorry mate i was planning on trading it in but peter stevens were being real scumbags with the tradein annoying when im spending 18k in their shop :(

I know the feeling,I had the same problem with Honda world about 4 years ago,was all ready to spend 14k with them but their trade in was crap ,1k they offered me.
Walked out ,sold my bike private for 3k and went to Boltons and bought my FZ6.
Have not stepped foot in that shop since !

yeah i was gonna "in principle" rethink the buy and bitch and moan but ive decided that anyone that ever asks me where i bought it from, from here on out will be told how peter stevens honda are aholes when it comes to tradeins.

lol

yamaha was good they gave me a very good trade in when i bought the FZ6 :D

That wont take long to sell...

Good Price for an 08 in good condition...

How many Kilometres, could find that in the ad?

VALE JAMES FREUD, THE MODELS

Sadly, couldn't battle his demons any more. Took his own life today.

Huge fan of the Models in the 80's. Even have them on vinyl!

RIP James

Stunned & devastated when I read it yesterday :( The Models & in particular James remind me of a fun filled youth.

He will be missed.

Weird thing is, i played "I See Motion" last night...and i have never played it in a Club before....

He leaves a fairly decent legacy does James, the Models nearly did the INXS thing, and make it real big....but James just did'nt quite have what the "walking theromone" Michael Hutchence had out the front!

RIP James Freud.

wolfman, when you did your heated grips did you do them yourself? peter stevens are telling me its $300 labour to fit them i was like wtf do you need to take the engine out to fit a genuine accessory.

wouldnt of thought it should be very difficult?

I got quoted $800 or $1000 for the genuine Yamaha heated grips (incl install). Aftermarket versions are much cheaper, and there are quite a few good threads on how to install them floating around.

Thanks for reminding me of another mod I need to remember to look into :D!

I'd be cautious unless your getting them from someone you trust, second hand.
They are still 800$ on the Yamaha website, and I've noticed a huge jump in falsely advertised goods on ebay lately! (Just in general not bikes specifically)

Oxford Heated grips are $140...and just as good as any OEM heated grip that you get charged a premium for...

They cannot possibly be that hard to fit....tell em to piss off, and do it yourself, or bring em to my workshop, and i will give you a hand...

When i fitted mine, it took about an hour tops...even allowing smoking breaks!

:D
