The "Off Topic" thread...

Hmmm...bit pricey for me.....but i would like to get an old postie bike or something, for hacking around on...leave it wherever i want, etc, etc...

We've been looking at old postie bikes at the auctions - all had reserves around $950 - we only want to thrash the thing around our property - bit much for that I think.

Yep, stand up from time to time, let your legs hang on long straights, man, i have even learnt a new one from Mikey recently, put your legs up over your frame sliders for a bit, gives them a nice stretch...and as for breaks, 150-170km's is about as far as i can ride before i start to lose it...

Breaks are the most important thing when touring...

Yeah, standing up definately works. Gets the blood back into your backside!

I'm covered in bruises on my legs - some bloody idiot on Speed Triple kept flicking stones at me.......

They certainly are! And not just for comfort, safety too!
I'll have to try that frame slider one when I go away for easter too:D

At my weight im always dubbious of standing on my pegs, i can see them snapping off.

If i can do it, you can Jules....fat ba$tards unite! :D

Anyone know the legalities off braided lines here in s oz i thought i heard on here that they are illegal.

They are only illegal in Oz if they are not tagged, and in a protective plastic coating...so they dont spark on the road, when the bike goes down...

Try putting your feet up on the oggy knobs as well, i tried that, helps stretch the hamstrings and driver muscles as well...

That is harsh. $220 and 1 point for 6 kms over? That's BS.

Was it a long weekend? In WA over a long weekend it's double demerit points.

That sucks. Well definately shows the 10 % rule is out now, 220 would probably be the smallest one now and i thought it was 3 demerit for speeding. Double points in WA shows a different tact to trying to kerb deaths, hey kazza is the road tole there low?

No, quite a high road toll.

People only take it easy on long weekends, but there are always still deaths.

We've starting getting the speed cameras that can record rear number plates. That might make a difference.

Yeah well, we have these "nice" new camera's at major intersections, that record every car's number plate, so if your driving unregistered, and insured, your ass is their's....sorta good in a way, but very scary in a big brother kind of way...

As for camera's that can get rear number plates, i think we have had them for quite sometime, just not at all camera locations...

Might have been Discofrank!....

We had a hell of a storm here yesterday. Trees down everywhere. Horizontal rain and lightning strikes throughout. We've got a 8.5 acre property in Bullsbrook - Mike's going to be checking for damage today.

25mm of rain in 10 minutes in the city and I think 41mm fell in total.

Heaps of hail damage. Several schools closed.

Glad I was at home and now on the road!
