I can fit 1-2 weeks of clothes in the old bag that fit on my rack when I had my 250, it was a generous sized bag, but not unmanageable for travelling.
The missus needs one of the airport type bags for a weekend away. And thats not including handbag and several of those viro-friendly woolies bags full of crap.
Definately a different mindset when travelling, mine is "whats the minimum I can survive on" not sure what the female version is yet

My way is to pile all the stuff I want to take on the bed (way more than I need), he'll go through it and I will be left with virtually my draggins, leather jacket, helmet, boots, gloves, undies, couple of t-shirts, toothbrush/paste, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, another pair of jeans and a couple of t-shirts.
Guess I'll leave the make-up and straighteners at home

My bag for the 4 day trip to PI a couple of weeks ago consisted off.
Wet weather over pants , rolled up into a ball the size of a grapefruit!
4 pair of socks & jocks...
4 T-Shirts...including the one i wore on the ride over
1 pair of jeans
Toothpaste, Deodorant, sun cream, mortein fly stuff.
Winter gloves, and inner's, neck sock.
Spare visor, allen keys.
camera, phone charger, camera battery charger, phone.
Night vision glasses, wallet, GPS & charger...
All this fitted in my tank bag, and my bum bag...
Didnt need shampoo...used soap! didnt need make up...cant improve on perfection!!!!
...didnt need hairbrush...got the hair cut short before i went.In the end i had room to pack 4 t-shirts i bought as souvenirs, on the way home, and i was left wanting nothing!

When it comes down to it, you either pack super light, or take a car...i know which i prefer....
Have you ever gone for a blat through the twisties with a pillion plus 50kg's of gear....it aint fun for the rider, it's like wrestling a top heavy beast round corners! And i am sure, unless the bike is set up for such shenanigans, it's not good for the clutch, tyres, etc, etc....

Ummmm.....simple really, i am an agent for RALPH magazine, i run a Event Management company that runs swimsuit comps, and Grid Girls, i have managed over 70 Model comps, worked at many National Finals for Swim Comps, have over 500 models on my books, have worked on about 50 Glamour photo shoots, and have had to kull a female companions travelling needs for bike trips about 100 times, having spent over 50000km's with a girly girl of some description hanging off my bike!!!
I walk a mean catwalk too!

My best trip away packing sesh, invloved me taking my swag, some fishing gear, and personal needs items for a 4 day trip over Nelson way, camping and fishing at the Glenelg River.
This was a winter trip too, so had to be ready for cold nights and actually rode out in torrential rain at around 1:30AM...lol.
So I rode out wearing my wet weather gear (Dri Rider Pants and Ixon Jacket).
I slept under a thin blanket wearing my Dri Rider pants and Ixon Jacket...lol.
I fished in my Dri rider pants and Ixon Jacket....I'm sure you've gotten the picture by now....lol...into the river for a tubs and back into the bike gear after drying off with a chamois...lol.
I took toothbrush and paste, some shower gel, 4 pairs of durps, 'T'shirts and socks. One jumper (I wore it under my jacket), a tackle box, 2 rods and reels, my fishing knife (also doubles as a can opener and spoon), 2 cans of Baked beans (Ham sauce of course...lol), a can of braised steak and vegies, a very small billy, a few teabags, a cigarette lighter, some news paper, a couple big bottles of water, some coffe, some sugar, Rid, a hat, my LED headlamp and even managed to fit in a book to read of an evening. I bought a pie and iced coffee for brekkie and a Toasted cheese sanga for lunch each morning at the local servo.....about a fifteen minute ride along dirt roads among the roos....and I wanted for nothing....well....maybe a thicker blanket...lol...gets pretty cold down the S.E. of S.A....lol.
And this is what it looked like .....
The only problem I had was the non-telescopic of the 2 rods hitting the top of doorways at service stations when I went in to pay...lol.:BLAA:
I'm sure you can leave the uncurling wand at home, ...lol.

Been down there a few times now. A couple on the bike and a couple in the car with Kayak. It's like heaven on earth....really sweet spot to get away from it all.

Lol! Yeah, 2 business's, 2-3 nights a week playing tunes, about 70 events a year managed, and a single dad to 2 boys who I both have 50% of the time, and coach of my eldest sons cricket and now school football team...yeah I really should get a life!!!my secret is mobile Internet, an I phone, an ability to delegate work to my staff, and an average of 4-6 hours of sleep per night!
And as I have said before, an un-natural abilty to dribble, both verbally, and with the written word!
