Need prayers again!

Thanks everybody, it is greatly appreciated! I just love all of you!!!!

She was born at midnight in Colorado. She weighs 4 pounds :eek:

She is breathing on her own, heart rate is good and blood pressure's good. She will be in the hospital for 2 weeks. I will get to see her in a few weeks!!!!

Will keep you all posted.

Secondly, the main test we use for placenta abnormalities is the ultrasound, which frankly is much harder to read that most people think. Having said that, an experienced OBGYN should have been able to do this without any trouble as it is considered a daily-use test in their practice. Do you know what was wrong with her placenta? Did she have Placenta Previa, Placenta Abrupto, Placenta Accreta, or Vasa Previa?

Thank you for the info.....I have no idea what was wrong with her placenta.

We can all thank God for that little miracle.. but the prayers still must go on.

Jeez! I take a couple days off and I am SOOO far behind! I would have given thoughts and prayers then but now I will for the newborn in hopes that she continues without any problems. God speed Little One!
 
Congrats on the new neice. Glad things worked out positively. Good luck in the future and enjoy your new title "Auntie"
 
Congrats to auntie! As an OB/GYN (who is in the second year of training to become a high risk OB) I can tell you that the placenta is to blame for most growth restriction. The abnormal AFP (unexplained abnormal AFP) just shows that the problem with the placenta started early. Unfortunately, while US is helpful in monitoring the pregnancy, there is very little we can do to modify the outcome. Prior to the advent of US, the outcome would not have been this good. I see babies born much smaller than 4lbs. Girls do better than boys in the NICU. All will be well.

Didn't even see this request till now................,but it's still not too late for prayer for the little one (Hailey) & mom - a ways to go yet!

Yay, we have another doc on the forum... I thought I was the only one!
 
Glad to hear everything is good now.
Its not a nice situation , I nearly lost my wife and first born in similar circumstances .

Beautiful name by the way :)
