a good friend of mine left this morning, all packed up with full camping gear, mounting his prepped FZ6, for a long ride up North... He completed his 7 hour riding day in hot Southern California weather to meet yet another friend of mine.

Tomorrow, while I'll be AT WORK, they will be starting a 4 day riding/camping/discovering trip all around the best roads of Northern California.

I was supposed to be there! 10 days a year of vacation SUCKS! (vive la France for that, my friends there all have like 8 weeks a year.... what??).

had a nice dinner and a few drinks at a moto bar....went to bed about 30 mins ago...can't sleep...keep thinking about the corners...all 1,200 miles....you'll be missed!
 
:eek::eek::eek::eek:...damn 8 weeks of vacation. I can barely take a week at time and I have two weeks a year. Europe man I tell ya...I need to live there again.

10 days, I mean really, 10 days a year... so basically I take one week for Xmas, one day to help my wife when the daughter is sick, and I am left with 4days for the rest of the year... ri-di-cu-lous!!!

Eh? Are we in the dark ages here folks? This is 2009 you know. 10 days is stupid. I get 25 days plus the statutory 8 days bank holidays. I'm on leave today cos summer hols have started and my sons holiday club doesn't start til next week.

Is that stanard in the US??? If so it sucks!

I have a dude I work with and he goes crazy when ever I bring up the French getting 4 weeks vacation right out of the box at any job. Says they are lazy, that's why France is on its butt and can't produce anything, blah, blah, blah.

Fact is, American's ARE the most productive, because we are the most over worked.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm with you, we need to make it a standard for 4 weeks, instead of 2, and we would all be much less stressed.

Holy crap! I'd be happy with 4 weeks, you Aussies and Europeans got it awesome! I get 2 weeks now, two more years and I get 1 more week for a grand total of 3 weeks or 15 days. Only 3 sick days also.

Ozfazer you're killing me with the 23 weeks! :ban:

Nooooo..... That is so cold! At the very least I would have brought my own beer!
 
I get 0 vacation days and 0 sick days. Another way to look at it is I get all the sick and vacation days I want. I'm 100% commission. Every day I take off means 4 days to catch up again. Sucks ass. Haven't been on a vacation in years, never even took a homeymoon.
 
I work for a Dutch company but my office is ini the UK and I get 22 days per year with 1 additional every year up to 35 or something. :eek:

I would say this is standard for whoever asked about America. Same as I get. 3 weeks next March!
