Hey oso2k - I'm going to be a cheapo and try my hand at milling these myself, do you have a detailed drawing? I went through the whole thread and must have overlooked it, cause I thought I had seen it a year ago when I was looking through.

What's the thickness and grade of the aluminum you're using? I can probably figure the rest out based on pictures and dimensions.

You could do that, but the shop is pretty cheap compared to doing it yourself one-time. My arrangement with the shop is that they own the CAD drawing and they make a batch (exclusively for me) whenever I ask for it. But it wouldn't be hard to reverse engineer. Details are in the first post/page. 6061 AL. 3/8" or 1/4" thick. The set back is about 1.75" and the rise 1.375". I'd guess that you'd need sheet of 1'x1' atleast to make the pair and that'll run you $30 (1/4") or $50 (3/8") unless you got scrap pieces of 6"x6".

And none of that speaks to the cost of anodizing which I pay $65 per color.

You make a great point - I knew you had a pretty good deal, it's just one of those things where I found out that I have access to a mill, I kinda wanted to do it myself. Wasn't quite set on anodizing, had thought of just getting them PC'd with a batch of other things at some point in the future. The more I'm looking at it, the more it seems like it's just smarter to put in an order through you.

Count me in for a black set!

Edit: Sorry if I just jumped in an hour late - any chance you could up your request?

The flip side is that I've never a ton of money at this or have gotten them down as cheap as the first run because of the volume (first order was 25 sets).

Does anyone who has installed this have a closeup pic of the bent shift rod? I know they've been posted but most pics dont work anymore or links are broken due to the forums name change. .. thanks!!

I ordered an extra just so I can have a fallback plan.

Did you see the instal with the ball joint swap?

It looks a lot cleaner than the bent rod and looks pretty easy to do, it is at page 24.
I already have the ball joint to do it and will be going that route.

Carlos840,

Are the threads M6 on both ends (male and female) on the ball joint you have?
are the left handed threaded?

This is the ball joint i have, 6mm at both ends, and the right threads where they should be...

Pretty much the exact same specs as the part number in the original post, except this one comes from the UK.

M6x1.0 LH LINKAGE BALL JOINT ZINC PLATED WITH CLIP | eBay

I would have liked to find a stainless steel one, but all i could find here is zinc plated!
