FZ6 Rearset Set Back Plates For Sale

If it makes it easier I'll take black :(
But how much extra would it be if I were to cover the entire difference from $100 a person?

Does that mean that if for some reason a group order never came together you would be able to order single sets at $165?

Yes...in theory. With about 3 week turnaround time. I'd have to give you the Machine Shop's info and what not. BTW, $165 is almost triple the cost of the original run.

Well, being in Europe, the Mechanics shop info would not really help me, which is why i was wondering if you would take a single order in case things didn't happen...

I know it's expensive, i was just thinking about a worst case scenario if in a couple months time we still only have two or three people only!
Let's wait and see i guess.

I hear ya. Usually these take a couple weeks to build momentum.

What size caps did you use to plug the frame holes?

I keep forgetting to measure them...

hey Carlos, that's my bike with the frame caps. I'll measure them, they are plastic caps lik you might use to plug a pipe just to finish it off.
One of them is about 45mm the other side about 30mm from memoery.
the smaller one ( Ithink) needs to be cut a bit to fit into the frame.

I bought them from a this place called "Clark Rubber" here in Melbourne

Shop online at Clark Rubber, Pools, Pool toys, games, Rubber, Flooring, Foam, Outdoor & more

these are part of the range, I'm sure you can get similar where you are.
I instlaled them with a smear of silicon just to hold them in place but easily removed for maintenance and re set with a new smear of silicon

In the photo I had installed an extension thread onto the shift rod, I have since taken that off its not needed. I put the rod into a length of heat shrink wrap (black) so it doesnt stand out against the frame so much.
I think there is a write up in an earlier post (#240 for pics and #269 for my write up) for changing the ball joint on the gear shift lever.
This is the best way to do this mod as it maintains full adjustment of the lever. the new ball joint cost me about $10, took me about ten minutes to drill out the original ball peened ball joint and fit the new one to the other face of the lever. just make sure you get one that is threaded correctly -----Its all in the earlier posts

when you get the set back plates you'll be impressed with how they are made and the change to riding position
cheers

oso2k,
I'm from the south. meaning I'm a little slow ;).. but just to be clear, the plates are $100 shipped, correct?

thx, M

Yes, approximately.

The recent discussion was about people going directly to the machine shop purchase them instead of a Group Buy where the coloring costs can be shared.

Let me know if I have the colors wrong.

Current demand:
pdalora - silver
yourebarred - silver
Carlos840 - black
Kenward - black

I'll wait for mountaincycle to decide if he'd like a set before contacting the machine shop. In the mean time, I'll start collect money from you guys. Otherwise, Monday morning, I'm calling the shop and putting the order in. Then it'll be 2-3 weeks (usually 2) before I get them, and then another 3-5 days before you get them.

As a recent example, I sent thisisbenji a set on a Friday night (literally 1 minute before the post office closed) from Moorpark, CA to Wadworth, IL and he received them on Monday. USPS does alright by me these days.

Put me down for a set please

PayPal is my preferred method. If you guys want to do Money Order or Check, they'll be added delay but I've also never had anybody take that option.

I'll send you guys a PM once I get the quote back today. I sent off the Request for Quote to the machine shop a minute ago.

Hey oso2k - I'm going to be a cheapo and try my hand at milling these myself, do you have a detailed drawing? I went through the whole thread and must have overlooked it, cause I thought I had seen it a year ago when I was looking through.

What's the thickness and grade of the aluminum you're using? I can probably figure the rest out based on pictures and dimensions.
