is the 525 X a stronger chain?
Before you take off the old chain and gears, loosen the front sprocket nut. Mine was basically welded on there.
I had to put a 2x4 through the spokes and the swingarm on the back wheel, push the front tire up against a wall, and essentially stand on a breaker bar to get the damn nut off. I would suggest you take the nut off before you remove your old chain so you don't end having problems.

That is a top tip, I have been caught out with that before. Its a real BITCH.Before you take off the old chain and gears, loosen the front sprocket nut. Mine was basically welded on there.

How badly did this effect the speedo accuracy? Now I know why Mr. Ingersol was invented. One pull of the trigger and that nut just flew off.....

I like the thought of the front being nice and light. Plus the reality is that none of us really use the top speed of the eve range anyway.
Probably want to order a speedo healer at the same time if you are doing this mod, unless you like to do a ton of math while riding...
Just a thought here but do you not have to think about the offset with the stock gearing at speeds above 65-70mph? With the 15T counter it will just be more. Funny thing about it is the speedo is the one thing I am not usually looking at. Especially if I am going the same relative speed to those vehicles around me. If I am beyond the posted limit it really won't matter if I do get a ticket because I am over anyway. I will however say I don't have to worry about cops much.
