The New Comfortably Numb Rock and Blues show this week
I'm playing three tracks that are either Daniel Lanois playing and/or produced by him, including one by Neil Young and another, a band called Blackdub that features Trixie Whitley, daughter of the late Chris Whitley.
Just discovered Robert Randolph, an american steel slide player and he is pretty awesome, Buddy Guy and also Luther Allison. I'm starting off with three Aussies, well George Kamikawa is Japanese but he lives here almost full time and he is a great bluesman, Marshall Okell hails from the northern NSW coast and Dave Hole is from WA, he is dynamite guitarist.
hope you can cop a listen, this Thursday night 6-8 pm 94.1 fm or stream it
3WBC 94.1FM Whitehorse Boroondara Community Radio Melbourne

A request, if you're taking them.....

The Sky is Crying, either by my man - Stevie Ray V or even the original - Elmore James.

Maybe the original Midnight Special - Leadbelly NOT the dreaded CCR :spank:

I've got a great cd but the sound is terrible - not remastered.

It has Tampa Red, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, Blind Blake... seriously, if you watch Boardwalk Empire, most of these songs could be played in Chalky White's club LOL

:D

yeah I might be able to drop Doyle Bramhall as its not the best recording and take out Anson F and throw in some SRV, although Simon(bro) has just picked up a new SRV dble and he might have something in the queue. I'll talk to him later and see whats on his playlist

I just sent him a txt we'll see what he says

okay I'll accept notes that go along the lines of:

Dear AGF,
XXXXXXX couldnt listen to the show last night because the dog ate the radio, the aliens stole the radio antenna and the aunts and uncles from Greenland arrived unannounced
signed XXXXXXX's mum

but under absolutly no other circumstances, will any excuse be accepted for not tooooning in.

exspecially if you want a perticular toon played for your aural edification.

ah bugger it, thanks for your intent to listen, it DOES mean a lot to my bro and I and we still love playing music even if the listnership is a bit down
.... but, and its a big but, next fortnight is our last show for the year apart from our Christmas spectacular

( Man, I am making this sound like a show to tune into)

so 12 December, we would love to have requests for this show
the following week(19th) its a bit of a free for all xmas party show, all four of is get into the studio and whomever gets to panel gets to choose the music, so who knows what will get a run

whatever....I'd like to thank the forum and those that have tuned in over the past couple of years, we enjoy playing stuff and we hope you like to listen. and even if you don't , we're gonna do it all anyway ha ha ha
cheers all
