Part 30 is outside the case its a little clip to hold wires back and that's accounted for so I'm thinking shift forks

That doesn't look like a shift fork I've ever seen. Although we may not be talking about the same thing???

The clutch is on the other side and I'm guessing nothing obvious was found there other than missing friction. This is perhaps a brace or was secured by that bolt and went into the chopper as a result of chain blasting chunks into the case? IDK

I can't imagine this is hugely different than R6/FZ6 stuff, so that stray chunk of steel seems out of place and I'm curious where it came from and what it does/did!

Did you say it quit shifting at some point? There is this, but I can't imagine thats it....

The shifter mechanism is all perfectly intact, so that's not it, but looking at it more I don't think its a shift fork after all, I don't have a clue what it is now lol but I'm going to end up splitting the case and fixing everything so I'm sure I will find out what it is in the process

And the entire transmission locked up shutting the bike down at about 45mph sliding. it still shifted fine but 2nd gear hasn't been right for about a month, it pops out then quickly pops back in gear in 2nd but other than that no shifting issues. Even with the 2nd gear issue it would still shift into and out of 2nd fine

Considering its the perfect width of a 530 chain it had to be that, I assume the broke clutch plate of missing tooth on 1st is what caused the initial lock up

I imagine when the tranny locked up it pushed the chain into the block since I was still rolling and I found 3 broke teeth on the front sprocket
