Alright I heard the song "Simple Kind of Man" on the radio the other day and it was redone by Shinedown (I believe)... and it was terrible... Lynyrd Skynyrd should be disgusted by their attempt to try and remake an all time classic :spank:

I actually enjoy Shinedown's rendition of it and they did it with the blessing of Billy Powell. It is different and took a few listens to appreciate though.

I like them both for different reasons but then again, my music tastes are very eclectic.

The Deftones also did it.. and it is awsome I think, but I really dig the hard rock...

eh, I still believe that Lynyrd Skynyrd (much like Led Zepplin) is one of those bands you just can't redo with out making it sound bad... Obviously a lot of people like it because its on the radio but when I heard it I didn't find it very appealing... :shakehead::don'tknow:

I know I'm gonna get a :spank: for this, but I didn't even realize Lynard Skynard had originally done "Simple Man" until a few weeks after I'd heard Shinedown's version. So I had to get used to the Skynard version! I like them both now.

godsmack did some zepplin and it was good to... I'm not so much a shinedown fan. but I'll give the guy credit he has some pipes.

I hear ya, LS and LZ are awsome.. rock gods

You're making a few of us feel very, very old... :( :eyebrow:

:D ;)

I haven't heard this tune (new version). I have heard Kid Rock's mutation of Sweet Home Alabama. As a part-time musician I'm SOOOO tired of that song, even freshened up... :zzzz:

I didn't want to say it... the part about being old

Simple Man is a fantastic song, I can't say I have heard the remake however. But I think it is nice that they want to do the remakes, it is a tribute to the late musicians and also gives the new breed of 'musician' something to play off of. I just don't like when they take a good song and make it crap.

lol yea the orginal is very over played which it why i like the remake...

btw botch i love your sig

it seems like all the radio rock songs get sooo over played. but in a few, five, seven... ten years later, you always go back to rocking them again.. you know it to.. you love creed just say it!!

kidding, just kidding about creed..

I remember when Matchbox 20 came out, Tonic too around the same time, that wow a new band with talent ;) The bassist's aunt was my psychology teacher hehe she was cool
