That paint will work but is probably expensive. I used rutoleum rust tough....not even a high temp paint but it worked and a year and a half later it still looks great. I also taped off the "gills" to add a little silver in there. See below

I removed the whole thing, it's easy peasy. A lot of it goes under the grab handle and would be difficult to paint in place. Besides, with it removed I didn't have to worry about overspray.

Yeah, I used high temp paint but probably not necessary. The cover is plastic and doesn't even get hot to the touch, so regular old paint should work fine.

Just finished up the mod. I used a satin finish spray paint to get a little bit more of a sheen.
