Hello everyone,
After taking my calipers off the 2007 FZ6 I recently purchased I realized that 2 out of 4 pistons on each of my two front calipers are seized. Since the bike has 24,000 miles and I found a good caliper rebuild kit for a good price I would like to rebuild it (with new pistons...

During mid season I noticed my brake light was stuck on. The first thing I did was disconnect the front switch and used the back brake to see if it was the front switch and via versa for the back, nothing. The brake light continued to stay on. I just purchase a new taillight and i plugged it in...
I'm 5 7' and have to lean slightly forward to reach the bars. It's never put an ache in my back but after seeing everyone compliment the comfort after installing risers I decided to try a pair. At around 30 bucks I didn't have much to lose. The risers I purchased are 30mm up/20mm back. I'm...
Yesterday was a boat load of maintenance on the front of the FZ6. Having recently acquired the bike and having looked it over it was going to need some maintenance and upgrades to get it to my spec. For some reason the person that serviced the front brakes thought that if a little grease on...

Took apart one of my front brake calipers thinking I needed to replace pad (still a lot of room left) however when putting it back together felt a little loose. Didn't think anything much (thought after riding it would tighten up...I know I am dumb) but noticed brakes were choppy. So...
Conceptionally, I understand I am supposed to look at the wear indicator and see if it is flushed, but either looking at it from the front or the rear, with it turned in either direction and even lying down with a light I just can't for the life of me tell how worn it is. Which is especially...
I've posted several times about the S2's front brake seals, over time, dragging.
(S1's not so much as they have half as many pistons)
This (IME) is due to rubber hardening up, grit, grime, seals don't allow the FOUR pistons (each disc) to retract.
The below video was taken today, with...
Hey all. I searched the forum looking for a post about this but couldn't find anything.
In the interest of full disclosure I got the idea from this site - https://stoltecmoto.com/fz-09-braking-and-control-updates/
Parts list:
- R6 Master cylinder and reservoir
- R6 brake lever (FZ6 lever...
Is it just mine or does every FZ6 have the flappy rear brake light, I can literally rock it around up and down and it looks like it should be sitting higher up against the rear fairing there is always a gap that looks like its been bodged back on after an accident. I tried tightening the screws...
Some bozo decided to try to hot wire my faster red 06, and they cut the left assembly wires.
Just replaced the assembly, but no lights (including my brake lights) work. Any thoughts to what the culprit might be?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Gang,
A few months back I noticed my rear brake pedal was slowly getting a little softer and requiring more pressure to stop. This eventually escalated to it not working at all and would bottom out.
I did the usual flush and bleed with some semi fresh DOT 3 fluid, and all was good for...
Posted this on "How To's" just looking for a little more exposure.
Getting ready to change out brake pads for the first time. Question: Do I need to put any anti-seize / copper grease etc. on the back of the brake pads to reduce potential squeaking ??? Is this just for cars & not so much bikes...
I needed to replace the front brake switch after doing a test with a jump wire it was determined the original one is not completing the circuit when pulling the lever and actuating the switch.
So I ordered and received a replacement from boats.net. I ordered off of the right parts schematic...
I am listing my 2008 Black FZ6 for sale (title is wrong). I acquired the bike just this year and have bought a lot of accessories for it, as my intention was to turn it into a sport tourer, I am just not sure it fits all my personal needs. The bike is in excellent shape fully serviced with minor...
First, apologies for having been off the grid for so long. I'm not the forum/internet person I once was. Really great seeing familiar names still posting here.
I'm looking for the front brake switch part number. Google searches pulls up eBay links and I would prefer to order from Amazon or...
*SOLD* For sale is my 2005 Yamaha Fz6 with approx 24,400 miles. The bike is well maintained and mechanically very sound. Has quite a few upgrades to make it handle nicer than the stock version, along with a Givi storage for longer rides. It is fully serviced for this year with brand new (just...
