What Do You Do At Stoplights??

I start humming a little tune until I realise that the cager I pulled up next to has his window wound down and is giving me odd looks. Since being hit from behind whilst being a good boy and waiting in the traffic (in the UK), I always filter to the front of the queue where I am protected by...

Broke something on the bike today :D

Congrats! When I learnt I did a direct access course in the UK. 1 week in total, first morning on a 125, then in the afternoon onto the Honda 500's (they felt so big after the 125's). Took my test at the end of the week, passed and able to ride any size bike. It was very intensive...

    Horn-y

I use the horn whilst filtering through traffic if I spot a car that looks like it might be changing lanes and hasn't spotted me. It always makes me laugh when they honk back. Funny how people interpret the horn as aggression rather than its intended purpose of making yourself known to other...

Computer Backdrop. post your screen shots!

It's one of the ones that come with Lucid but not the default. The default is an ugly Maccy pinky purple one which had to go before my eye's burned.

Fuel economy dropped after 40,000 km service

Well the carbtune arrived within the delivery time-frame, which I was quite surprised about given the recent air traffic chaos. So yesterday I had a day off work and spent the morning working on the bike. The TB's were not that far off so I guess the garage did a rough sync after the valve...

Computer Backdrop. post your screen shots!

Here's mine, very boring as it's a stock install of the Lucid release candidate.

Computer Backdrop. post your screen shots!

Way to cool to be Windows :Flip:, that would be Ubuntu :Flash: judging by the applications logo. Only 7 days to go until Lucid is released

Would you wear a yellow jacket?

    Mine is very similar...

Anyone running this on their Iphone, BB, Smartphone, etc...????

Real time traffic works very well. I think it partially uses an established databases (inc. Google traffic, amongst others) and partly uses user data. I think it's only available for Android based mobiles though. Waze is great fun but it's usability depends on where you live (how many users in...

    Can Am Spyder

Perhaps not in Sacramento CA USA, but in many (most?) places Quad's are street legal. T'is an international forum ;).

Has your bike ever hit the ground?

Well it hasn't touched pavement but has touched the snow lying on top of the pavement. Does that count? :ban:

    Battery Life

3 Years with 43,000 Kms on the clock, riding in temps ranging from -15c to +35c and my orig battery is still going strong. The starter still ticks over very quickly. I spend most of my time > 5000 RPM so it's always getting a good charge while riding and the bike never sits still for more than 2...

Fuel economy dropped after 40,000 km service

Thanks for the replies. I do have a bit of brake drag (a bit more than normal) but nothing to write home about. I have a feeling they forgot to do the throttle sync after the valve adjustment or just didn't do it very well. I've ordered a Morgan Carbtune so I can take my time to do it myself...

    Clutch!!

I have the same problem with the stock levers and I'm too much of a tight-arse to buy the after markets :D For a while I used to wind it out a bit futher than spec with no ill effects but the garage would always wind it back to spec during service. I've given up winding it out now and instead...

Fuel economy dropped after 40,000 km service

Hi all, I just wanted your opinions on whether this sounds normal. Prior to my 40,000 km service I was getting on average 16 kmpl. My first fill-up after the service showed 13.82 kmpl and since then I've averaged about 14.5 kmpl. Is this something I should be worried about or would it be...

Anyone running this on their Iphone, BB, Smartphone, etc...????

No but I use 'Real time traffic' which lets me know about traffic and speed traps. I also use Waze.

    'Racing line' or wide?

One thing I remember when I learnt to ride in the UK was being told (on a right-hand turn riding on the left) was to make sure my head was not over the line :) which using the racing line it would be.

I use protection every time... do you?

Thanks I'm well aware that it's not good for my heath, eating more than my recommended daily allowance isn't either, but that doesn't mean I don't do it sometimes The reason why I wear them at the weekends is because I'm generally riding for 6+ hours and they make a huge difference in...

I use protection every time... do you?

What do you use? I wear foam ones on weekend rides but I don't wear them on my 45 min daily commute cause it's a another thing to do before setting off and with foam ones I'd get through them at an incredible rate. I presume you use re-usable ones, how and when do you clean them? I guess they...

    FZ8 or FZ1

Well I can't really vote without having ridden the FZ8 but apart from that there are really 3 things that will make me go for the 8 over 1... 1. Price is considerably cheaper 2. Insurance is considerably cheaper (doubt it) 3. FZ8 has better low end torque than the FZ6 (more like the FZ1). If...
