    2005 FZ6 for sale/trade

I have a 2005 FZ6 that I am looking to sell/trade. I only have had the bike about 6 months. It has been great, but I am planning a dual sport trip next summer with my brothers, and I can only afford one bike. Here are some details: -just over 14k miles -tires, sprockets, and chain are...

M4 exhaust, trade for stock exhaust plus cash

Thanks for the interest everyone, the m4 exhaust is gone. I got the stock on and sent off the m4 yesterday. The stock is MUCH quieter (I was surprised how quiet the bike is) but that is what I wanted. Thanks again for the interest, and sorry to those that it didn't work out.

M4 exhaust, trade for stock exhaust plus cash

Ok, guys, the person first in line isn't going to be able to do it. A couple questions I have gotten: I don't know what model years take what exhaust. Somebody has told me that the M4 exhaust will fit from '04-'08. I don't know if that is true, and if it is I assume the same could be said...

M4 exhaust, trade for stock exhaust plus cash

I have gotten a few PM's. The first to send me a pm has first dibs to see if we can make it work. If not, then I will let you all know. Man, by the response I have gotten from this within the first day, I think I put the price too low.

M4 exhaust, trade for stock exhaust plus cash

Here are a couple pictures I found that I had already put online. I could take larger/more detailed pics tonight.

M4 exhaust, trade for stock exhaust plus cash

I have had a couple requests asking for pictures. I will post something when I get home tonight. There is nothing wrong with the exhaust (that I know of). The only caveat is that the FZ6 is my only transportation, so unless you live within driving distance for the both of us, it would...

M4 exhaust, trade for stock exhaust plus cash

I recently got a 2005 FZ6 with the M4 exhaust put on. The previous owner showed me the website where the stock is from (I can't seem to find it now), and it is a $750 exhaust. I am not a big fan of loud exhausts, so I am looking to trade for a stock exhaust plus some cash. I am located in...

    Luggage Setup for Touring......

Looks good. Did you notice any problems having your sleeping bag and pad so close to the exhaust?

    Glove Box Mod

Looks nice. Any chance we could get a picture of how you attached it on the bottom?

    Side mounted exhaust

I don't know about the rest of you, but I haven't noticed any heat from the underseat exhaust. Maybe a passenger would, but I don't ride with out.

    Mac or PC

I think most of the recent mac popularity is due to people jumping on a trendy bandwagon...people who use a computer for nothing more than email, web browsing and music. A smart phone has enough computing power for 95% of computer users. That being said, I don't buy most of the mac...

    FZ6 Fuel Economy

I ride like a complete panzy, I will admit it. I use mine mostly for commuting to work and back, and I like to keep the RPM's pretty low (3700). I keep pretty good records of miles driven and gallons used. I think a common mistake is that people will give average mpg for one fill up, which...

    FZ6 as a world tourer?

I think it could do it, but I probably wouldn't want to. The KLR is a pig compared to just about every other bike, but the reason it gets used so much is just what you hinted out; ie ability to fix it anywhere. If you are in the middle of nowhere and the FZ6 breaks down (not that it is...

    How to do it guides

Ok, I am probably just missing something very obvious (happens all the time) but the link that I click just takes me to the magazine homepage where it asks me to subscribe. I don't see any section with how-to articles? What am I missing here?

    Clutch cable broke

Ok, one last question. I called two shops, and for some reason neither was able to find the FZ6 in their parts catalog (and one is an authorized Yamaha dealer). They found something they thought would work, but I don't really trust a shop that can't find the FZ6 in their catalogs. So...

    Clutch cable broke

Thanks. I took the portion of the fairing off so I could move the gas tank. I mostly had the cable out, I just didn't want to remove it completely just on the off chance that it could be done with just the inner wire. I am serious, that can't be that hard. There has to be a way to just...

    Clutch cable broke

Follow up question; I went to remove the clutch cable as per the pictorial walk through in the link given and I got to thinking. It seems like a pain to remove the entire thing. Is there such a thing as just the inner cable portion where you can feed it through the holder, and then solder...

    Clutch cable broke

Sorry about not seeing the sticky. No, the knob didn't break off. The cable itself became frayed and mostly broke. There are still a couple of threads left, but it doesn't give enough leverage to engage the clutch.
