2006 FZ6 - My clutch starts to grab at the very end of the lever travel or when the clutch lever is almost all the way out. I would like it to grab after about a 1/2 inch or so of letting it out ( not sure what is supposed to be normal ? ) How does one do this? I think it might help a bit with...
I noticed after I took the bars off, when reinstalling the clamps have a little arrow on each clamp. Are those supposed to point toward the front of the bike?
I assume so but I just thought I would ask to make sure.
Thanks!
I think the main thing that bugs me is the clunky tranny. My little GS 500 shifted just by thinking about it. Guess I got spoiled. The seat could be nicer but doesn't seem to bad. I'm kinda getting use to the on-off thing.
Overall I think the bike is a killer value, the overall quality seems...
I have never gone above 8K in the 6 months I have owned her. That is fast enough for me, but it's nice to know I can kick arse if I ever wanted too! I still don't understand why some people call this a good beginner bike, it's a sleeper:D
Is there any easy way to test this thing to see if it's working? It spins freely but I have never heard it. I saw in some threads you have to find the connectors (buried) and ground them somehow. How about if I just let it idle away for awhile, would it come on in say 10-15 minutes. I'm just...
Mmmm, I have some Cortechs that have those straps in the back. I wrap them around the turn signals. Last night I built a simple aluminium bracket that uses existing bolt holes. The holes are the ones that bolt the lic. bracket to the frame. They are the farthest ones forward under the rear...
Yep, mine has the Battery tender connection hook-up. I bought the power outlet that has a 8 foot cord that plugs right into the Tender connector / trickle charger. I wrapped up the extra cord inside a bicycle inner tube and zipped tied it under the triple clamp. If I need a utility light or...
Ok, guess all is normal. I got so spoiled with my GS 500, just touch it a little and bang next gear. No biggy just a change!
Thanks to all for the quick feedback, like I said great forum, great people:thumbup:
Somewhat new to my 2006 FZ6 and appears indicated by threads that these things seem to have clunky shifting overall. ( I agree!!) It seems like you have to kinda whack it into gear a bit. I really notice it from 5th to 6th were if I shift it kinda easy it seems to have two clicks or steps...
Congrats!!!
As other people said, go practice and get a good feel for how it brakes, throttle control and general overall feel. I think the FZ6 is kinda of a tricky bike to ride, but I am coming off a GS 500, truly mellow. It's all kinda relative!
Initially I found the FZ to be a bit...
OK, That's kinda what I thought. Guess I just need to change my habits a bit. Interesting, this bike seems to take a bit of effort or attention to ride it. It for sure is no GS 500!
Thanks for the feedback:thumbup:
I'm kinda new to the bike, but I seem to notice a fair amount of drive train lash or slop. It's not all the time but sometimes on acceleration from first and second and sometimes when stopping quickly. The chain is adjusted and has about 1 inch of play up and down when Im off the bike and on...
A few months back I bought a really nice 06 FZ6 on emotion. I had an 06 GS 500 that I really liked but fell in love when I saw this thing. When I first got it and really rode it I thought, OMG, what did I buy! It felt like a bike on steroids, I was not real happy.
Everyone on the board...
