I've found the HP of the FZ6 to be more than enough for 2 up. I doubt you're going to find many bikes that do a better job in it's price / weight class. The built-in center stand comes in very handy if you like to do your own work (adjusting chain slack / oil changes etc). You can always spend a...
I've been experimenting with Casserole's a lot recently (cheap / easy to make / pleantiful & tasty leftovers). Recently I've been toying with a spanish / southwest style.
I'll give the quick (caned) version. If you already know how to make some of the caned stuff by scratch - go for it.

I just got a 2008 FZ6. I've been riding for 4 years now (on EX250), and I'm very happy with the performance, quality of build at it's price point.
* FZ6 already has best-in-class power, and the power of the FZ1 is far beyond my risk tolerance
* Larger gas tank / longer range
* Under-tail...
INCLUDING Tax & Registration (good for a whole year) - I paid $7000 for a brand-new bike. Once you add those "loaded" costs to the $4900, you may as well just get a brand-new one.
I think we can all agree they look sweet. Can I get some more comments on how much better they protect in the wind & at what speeds? This is my #1 concern.
O-RLY?
If this is true - then I'm even happier
Can't remember where I read this (tried to find article, and can't now) - just repeating their claims (I KNOW it was on the old FI mapping though). I also remember they didn't post the actual dyno charted results (only commenting on...
Sit on them (and the SV650, and the Kawasaki 650R) and get what fits you best. The Kawi 650R and Yamaha were a great "fit" egronomically. The 650R would probably have better power delivery for what I want (about 2x as much at 5500 RPM - buy the Yamaha has more above 8500 RPM). I drive in city...
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” - Stephanie Marrott
Different people have different risk tolerances, and different things that take our breaths away. Explaining motorcycling to someone who doesn't "get it" is like...
x2 written - no response :Im With Stupid:
The reviews I've read generally come to something like "The FZ6 would have won, but the Fuel Injection sucks". They've fixed this in the '07+ models - so where's the new reviews? Yamaha needs to pound the pavement, this is a wonderful bike.
It's a hot topic for debate, but here's the bottom line:
* No one has complained that the "easy break in" the manufacturer suggests has blown up, or significantly harmed the performance of their engine.
* No one as complained that the "rev-hard break in" some racers suggest has blown up, or...
I'm not sure I ever want to be at the "limits of traction" in case something (rock, gravel, cager, another cyclist, oil, animal, etc all) bad happens. So, not sure how useful this skill would ever be for me. If I get a track bike, it'll be a cheap lil EX250 with some suspension mods.
OP: I'm pretty sure the article you're quoting is from the '06 or earlier model. In '07 they upgraded a bunch of "little" things - including the fuel injection mapping (and added an o2 sensor). Not sure how / if this effected the "buzzing" (I use quotes because I think the 08 engine I have is...
