    FZ1 or R1

I went from a 2007 FZ6 into a 2008 R1. The FZ1 was a serious contender in my decision, I have spent a lot of time on both. For me, the FZ1 didn't feel as sporty as even the FZ6. The seating position is more comfortable, which would be great for long distance touring, but if you are never going...

Recommend me some mods. Cosmetic but others welcome

Puig Racing windscreen, in dark smoke, was probably the best costmetic mod I did. I also painted the grey radiator guards black and it looked pretty slick too. Very easy and very cheap.

    Asshat backs over bike.

Holy crap. That totally sucks, sorry. Lots of pictures, or maybe even video surveilance from the store might be your best friend right now.

Cow hide or your hide. Those are the only two choices as far as I see it. Good move.

    Tough Bike....MT01 SP! Yum!

I have spent some time in the seat of an Mt-01. Gobs of low end torque, had to work the shifter like crazy because rpm range is 1500-4500. No point in revving it any higher. Fairly comfortable, little or no wind protection. Long distances would require a windscreen of some sort, for sure. It...

    FZ6 to R1 comparison

Foot position is not as good as the FZ6 in terms of comfort. I used to ride my FZ6 just like you do, moving my toes only to shift. The R1 is not as comfortable in that respect. My legs feel more like a chicken wing on the R1, (more bent) for sure. It also means that I am tucked in more, squeeze...

I live in Canada. Therefore, paid Canadian Price in Canadian funds. MSRP was $15,699 and I paid $11,400 on the road. There is 12% tax where I live too.

Thanks. I like the black too, I did have a choice between blue or black. It is a pain to keep clean though....

    FZ6 to R1 comparison

Good question. I did ride both before making my decision. I just felt better on the R1. When riding the R6, I felt like i was "on" the bike. When riding the R1, I felt like I was "part of" the bike. If that makes any sense. If I just rode track, I would have gone for the R6. It loves to...

    FZ6 to R1 comparison

60 mph in 4th, 5th, or 6th gear is well under 5000 rpm. 100 mph in 6th gear is about 6,000 rpm, however I can drop to 4th and still keep it under 8,000 rpm at that speed too. They bike has some really long legs.....You can be really lazy in the corners and still pull hard out of each one...

    FZ6 to R1 comparison

Shame on me for for not writing how an FZ6 looks, feels, and handles. I assumed that here on an FZ6 forum most riders would already know what an FZ6 is like. We have not met, but I already know that you are a putz. And I am sorry you can't afford the things you want. I am not sorry for...
