I recently put one on my VFR and wow does this little thing make a big difference! Super smooth accel now. Found it very useful when riding 2 up as well. Highly recommend.
I found this also applies to the FZ6 as I found the FZ6 to also have some throttle snatch.

From what I can find, it would seem that turning off your headlight on a motorcycle is against Florida State law.

..I hope so! Got this Scorpion EXO 900 "Transformer" modular helmet mainly for teaching traffic students. The flip up chin bar makes it easier to talk to them without taking my helmet off during debriefing sessions.
The chin bar assembly can come off and be replaced with a visor to turn it...
if it's all the why through the clear into the paint, then short of repainting the tank, there is nothing you can do. you could try a tougher polishing compound like McGuires Scratch X or something similar.
