It was so much easier than I thought it would be. 1 1/2 hours start to finish, and yes I used solder.

I'm going to be bold and say Dual headlight mod?:needpics:

EDIT: I like them, kinda reminds me of my bike now (hint hint)

where did you get the pod lights and how much? i would love to do this but i havent found very many.

I ordered them from my dealer, and they ran me a little over $21. The Yamaha part number is 5PW-84312-00. I picked up a couple 194 bulbs from pep boys for $4 and I was done. $25 and an hour and a half aint too shabby.

Thanks for the part number, I think this will be my mod project for this weekend........ after I mow my lawn down a bit. I hope my local Yammy dealer has 'em in stock.

Looks good...

Did you use a Glass 194 bulb or LED?

I used the standard glass bulbs from Pep Boys.

nice looking pods, did you do a "how to"? I might have to check these out up close and personal this weekend.

I normally would have, but I wasn't sure how long it would take so I ran right through it. I can explain it too you this weekend, it's pretty simple.

I want to know too! :D I want to see how you modded the pods and how these stay in! Great job!!

Well they look about the same size and I figured I'm custom drilling the hole anyways so I'll make it fit.

It will work as long as it's not too big. Picture a straw with one end blocked off. This is the end your drilling into to make the straw open so you can insert the harness, you drill too much and you break the outer walls. It's kinda hard to explain.

For anyone looking to do this mod, I found these on eBay. I just bought 2 and the grand total with shipping was around 9 bucks.

I used the same type of unit. Just drilled the hole slightly smaller and the rubber socket just squeezed in there beautifully. Havent had any issues yet
