ant_mb, did you wire these to be alternating signal lights or just running lights? I wish we had more time to chat and see the mod up close!

Also, as an FYI, I searched the part on Ron Ayers and came up empty, but if you use this one, it's there: 5PW-84312-00-00 Just another dash and two zeros. They are $6.54 each without bulbs.

I'm going to check with the dealer to see if they will get them to me for Ron Ayer's price with shipping. I'd rather keep the money local if possible.

Is it possible to just make the pod lights the flashers and get rid of those hideous things on the stalks? I want to do something different with them but I still want it visible. aka not those flush mount things that you can only see at night.

There's a guy on SBN who did it without three wires or relays. He put them in but instead of wiring to the running light and ground, he wired the pod light to the running hot and the signal hot. When the signal is turned on, the hot cancelled and shut off the pod, thus alternating his signal and pod light as blinkers. When the turn signal wasn't in use, the pod light was a running light. Here's what Segue00 says: Anyway, all you have to do is connect one of the pod LED leads to the + line of the running light and connect the other pod line to the + line of the turn signal. All connections are done at the faring, before the stock indicator harness.

If you have a polarized LED and it doesn't light up, just reverse the connection of the led lines.

This is for LED bulbs only and incandesent bulbs do not provide the same results. Go to the local Auto store and buy some LED 194 bulbs.

I just redid my pod lights so they would work as both running lights and flashers. It was super easy, and I took a couple pics this time. I chose to wire mine to the blinker side of the connection, this way if I ever need to I can simply replace that end. The blue and brown wire are the ones you want. Simply splice into them and solder the pod light wires on and your good to go. I have a video I'll post as soon as it's uploaded to youtube.

Second is a pis of the wire harness I wired it too.
Third is my sloppy solder job.
Fourth is me plugging the light in.
Fifth is the completed mod.

:Flip: :spank: I know... I know. I wish I could ride year round! Lucky bastid! :rockon:

Winter gives us the time to mod, clean, tune and do maintenance without having to feel guilty about taking away from the riding time. I'll ride until the black ice appears and then the bike is back out when the roads are clear.

I just wish it was a shorter winter, like maybe Maryland/Virginia area.

I wasn't happy with the bulbs so I went to Autozone and picked up some LED bulbs. They are a hundred times brighter.

Just completed my amber pod led's tonight! took about an hour, $18.95 total:cheer:
They work as both running lights and flashers, they alternate up/down, adds good visibility to on coming traffic, IMO...

I did it a little different, went to auto zone bought 2 License side marker sockets from Conduct-Tite Part# 85814 $3.99 each, and (2) jamstrait hyper-bright 4 led 194A bulbs, $10.49 for a two pack... $18.47 Total. Soldered and taped the taps to the harness. I would have gone to HK powersports(the local dealer) but I know they would not stock the correct harness!!

Looks identical to Ant's video to me
