Fz16 headlight, let the naked madness begin !

Where did you get those radiator covers from? those look pretty sweet. I also have this headlight set up on my fz6, looks great but the low beam is no where near good enuff for riding at night. even when the high beam is on i dont think its as bright as the the low beam on the faired fz. anyone else feel the same way?

Radiator fairings are from AMT in France Accessoires motos Tuning

You can set the web site language in english (Im french Canadian) the price was 73 Euro shipping included.

About the light output from the FZ16 light, its the same as the stock light for me, i had the dual light mod and the current output is more than enough for me.

Try to aim it a little higher maybe ?

Thanks !

You should be able to swap the 35 watt H4 lamp for a 55 watt H4 lamp but you want to switch off the low beam when the high beam is on with the 55 watt to prevent overheating. That is standard engineering. If The 35 watt fails you'll probably end up with a 55 watt replacement and you will want to switch the low beam off. (Click on the link in my signature)

That should almost double the output of light. It looks like the lumen output required in Asia may be much lower than here in the USA. The USA and probably Europe head lamps are generally 55 Watt and above.

You're only dealing with a single bulb.. if it were me I would put an HID reflector bulb in there! Don't tell me all that blah blah about light scattering and not being as good as a projector.. it is a super easy mod and costs about as much as a set of high end halogens. Just my .02

Check out DDM tuning if interested

All right, here are some outside pictures, let me know what you think, i have drag bars on the way, i will sell my brand new PRO TAPER on kijiji....

Check out the last pictures, i wanted to sell the stock parts.... i got them high on the shelf (over the coors light box) and they fell down..... :spank:
i hate myself right now.....

The science of reflector design will make a difference. If you install a lamp that has the filaments in a different locations than designed lamp you may have light dispersed in all the wrong places.
I like the idea of the HID conversion and can't imagine why it couldn't be designed to emulate the standard H4 light pattern output. I have seen HID conversions that are not designed for standard H4 replacement and they actually had physical interference when trying to fit them. Would probably also run cooler but I don't have any data on that.

My brother had them in his truck and got ticketed and had to get rid of them.

I just put a set of the DDM Tuning HIDs on my Canyon. I adjusted my headlights down a little, still get great light output, and didn't get any high beam flashes out on the back roads, or in town. Lots of people in my area have the HID kits installed. Hate the guys with the lifted trucks that have them, they blind the living hell outta ya!

Yes, My brothers truck was lifted and he got pulled over...

Well hey I have dual kits on my FZ and I have to admit I aimed them a "little" higher just to see what I can get away with. So far 2 flashes in about a dozen times times riding at night...so not so bad. I cannot say adjusting them down is really that high on my to do list to pull off the inner fairing and adjust down... eventually but in no hurry.

I see cagers in the daylight hit the night view on the rear view mirror when i am behind them. One thing for sure cagers are seeing me better now day and night. And to add a little of confidence, I have passed several LEO head on and never had a problem. I will take my chances and a ticket any day to be noticed easier by people in cars.

I agree! Be seen! That's the whole idea of modding the headlamps...

PM sent... really want this kit after reading all these posts and would love to try out the extra light before i by my FZ16 kit. Going to throw my PIA bulb in the single headlight though.
