I've been on a Buell Blast, a GS500, my Fazer, and a Monster 696.

(Also been on a Honda 250 NightHawk, but that was for the Basic Riders Course so I won't count that)

The Monster was great, however I felt like I had to lean forward too much.

I have only owned 4 bikes...

1982 Suzuki PE175 , where it all started

1990 Honda CBR1000F , fast & comfy but bad reliablity :spank:

2005 Yamaha FZ6 , the bike that puches well above its weight ;)

2008 Yamaha XJR1300 , the smooth operator , comfort , torque & sexy looks

Ridden numerous others , too many to list here but without a doubt the best package I have ridden is the 2010 Yamaha R1  , fast , very very very fast almost to fast , the sound ohh that sweet sweet sound , suprisingly very comfortable & the greatest motorcycle invention of the last 20 years..... The slipper clutch ;)

Ok, i am interested to see the results of this poll, will be a bit skewed i am sure, cause most of us still own FZ6's! But regardless, i am curious???

I am not asking whether you think it's the fastest, most comfortable, etc, etc...
'
But i mean, to live with every day, in the multitude of situations that most of us find ourselves rtiding our bikes in...

I am talking about flexability, the ability to perform different tasks you set the bike, etc...

Reliability, ease of maintenance, etc, etc...might be considerations that should be considered, but it is different for everyone...we all have our bikes for different reasons...

Would also love to see some of the reasons for your yes/no selection in the poll...

I have owned six other bikes, (still own a Ninja), and have ridden bunches of other bikes from 3 sizes of Ninjas up to a 'big holley', (no respect intended), and even a 'Busa. I have had tons of miles/hours/ fun on smaller bikes and scooters as well.
The Fazer is it without question. Even if mine dies and goes to the bad world =:-O, (for the wrongs it has committed on public highways : ), I love this bike more than anything I've ever straddled, (mechanical). Yamaha got this one spot-on IMO.

pe175.jpg

someone had put a number 7 on mine before i became "custodian" of the bike...wasnt till a few years after i got rid of the bike, that i realised that it was in reference to Barry Sheene! the 7 even had the dash through it, like Bazza's! If only i knew at the time...the bike would of had at least 10 more horsepower, had i known! ;)

Still think its a better ride than my dad's MV Brutale 910 Hydrogen.
Best bike I've ridden and definately owned, but I haven't tried that many.
That being said I'm always looking for mods that make the bike even better.

like some others here, the FZ6 is my fave so far,
with little really to compare it to:

1973 RD350
1986 FZ600
2007 Blue FZ6

first one was a chainsaw on tires, wheelie beast and plug fowling POS, but a ton'o'fun

the FZ600 was a great bike, handled like a dream, but could only sit on it for a few hours

the FZ6 is a lot like the FZ600, except I can sit on it all day

My motorcycle history is pretty small

I have had just two motorcycles before my naked FZ6

Bajaj Pulsar 180cc, 16hp, a black one like the one in the picture
l-1181295424-02.jpg

4 montsh 7000 kms, broken left wrist, several damages on the bike and a big and expensive truck smashed front bumper that I had to pay when I was starting my working life

after 8 months I bought another Bajaj Pulsar 180cc, 16.5hp and now with 17" spoke wheels
7a0dc9167e3c51d7e1f0d3f5d17d-1-3.jpg

Three years and 65000kms of pleasure

Then my beautiful black naked FZ6 arrived, so far two years and 45000kms, what a wonderful machine :cheer:

Others bike ridden, a naked fz1 just for a couple of kilometers (literally), and a friend's suzuki gsr around the block, not enough in both cases to like them or dislike them

So for me definitely the FZ6 is best bike I have owned and ridden, and for street riding I don't need or desire anything else, plenty of power, brakes, speed and load capacity for me.

I want another bike, a dual sport one for those rides including non paved roads, this yamaha xt660z would be a dream come true, but I'm not planning at all leaving my FZ6

Hey , wasnt someone asking about Geoff's headlight the other day ?? I think it was Taku but cant remember for sure.......

This one looks very similar to it , if its not the very same light

It's a little bit like Geoff's, but this one aint got such a pronounced "snout" i reckon....

Tough looking little bike though!

No way! Its my current ride - FZ1. There is always a better bike out there, I believe. My eyes are on the Ninja 1000 now.

So far, the Fz6 is the best bike I've ever owned. My favourite thing about it is its reliability. Other than regular maintenance, I just start it and ride it...unlike my old Norton 850 which I would ride for an hour and fix for an hour. Most of the newer bikes are very reliable nowadays, but I can't imagine one being less expensive to operate and maintain than the FZ6.
