Bet you can't wait for the NBN.. until they set up the filter!
As the many critics have said, the filter will never stop the bad people from getting at what they want, but will probably greatly restrict normal peoples choices of content.
Of course privacy and freedom tend to take a back seat when anyone starts a fear campaign these days, its just a shame no one seems to be able to actually support an idea on its merits instead of resorting to extremes and worse case scenarios that are suddenly every day occurances threatening all Australians.
Pretty much reflected in the current election, we are basically watching two shadow governments trying to run their campaigns, where neither actually want to promise anything but would rather try and win by saying they'll spend less than the other party in a more effective way.
I'm suprised we aren't seeing things like "We'll cut spending on roads, because at the rate of inflation Aussies won't be able to afford a car let alone petrol by the next election!"
On another unrelated topic, apparently in my area the Council is trying to ban units from providing parking spots for the people who live there.
Apparently its unenvironmental.
Ironic because the mayor in my area has one of those hybrid cars that caused more pollution in being made than a normal car makes in 20 years and its production, BUT her family owns one of those huge gas guzzling 4wd's.
I really wish we had a system where pollies who made suggestions but didn't live by them were put on a boat and sent overseas, all we have to do is threaten them with death and UN law states they can't be sent back.
