Well guys,I went to buy some oil today and got to Maxi-Moto's.................and it's gone !
Yup closed down ,all the windows are covered and a note on the door .
Damn shame.

Yes, i have been meaning to mention this....It closed during the week...Noticed it for the first time on Wedneday....there is a note on the door...

I did make comment to a couple of peole, that i was in there last week, and there seemed to be a lack of stock, or new stock of essential items, and Heinrich looked rather stressed!

Its a sad thing, as those guys & girls, really tried hard to make an accesories shop in Adelaide work...not the first to have a go, but yet another that has gone by the way side...

Man they were good for a decent price, and super friendlyservice.

hope everyone involved is ok...

might give Steve a call..

Its sad to say but in my experience the better the store is the harder time they have.
People just don't seem to realise if you have a good mechanic or accessories shop you have to support them, even if its just word of mouth, and in the end everyone loses out!
 
Well, I'm top poster for the month - 2 months in a row!

Ok, January is acceptable - Xmas break, time off work, but February? Short month and I worked all month. :spank:

I need to break this addiction ...........

Your in trouble for this month! I am back on deck, and dribbling like crazy!....55 posts in last 2 days alone! Yes, my problem also goes very deep!!!

Something very unusual happened to me this week.

Got home from work on Thursday, rode the XJR down the driveway to the shed, and when I've stopped, the forks stuck down! Wouldn't budge. I did brake hard, but big deal - it was low speed and it shouldn't happen anyway. I wasn't doing a stoppie as that would be nearly impossible - she does weigh well over 200kgs!

Had to put her on the trailer yesterday arvo and take her to the Yamaha Dealership. Should all be under warranty. They said they've never seen anything like it before.

Timing is off - we are due to ride down south on Friday for 2 nights - do a bit of touring - Bridgetown, Denmark etc. Would much rather ride the XJR than the Speedy.

Hopefully I will get her back on Thursday - getting them to do 30,000 km service at the same time.

Hmmm, that is weird...any idea what has caused it? And where they still in the "stuck" position when you loaded the bike onto the trailer???
 
No idea what caused it. Seems to me that something has gone amiss inside one of the fork legs, for it to stick down like that.

I've heard of dodgy seals sticking, but you can usually unstick them.

Still stuck down when I put it on the trailer. I thought, maybe being tied down, it might have sprung back but no such luck.

Guys at the shop had never seen anything like it either.

Weird! Maybe one of the shims has crapped itself, and has broken apart, and is wedged sideways in the cartridge, forcing the forks to stay jammed...

other than that, you would think for the forks to stick, thjere would be an issue with a bent fork leg, but this would have to be from a pretty severe impact...

Cant wait to hear what the outcome is.
 
He'd better get it back for the ride down south - he's already sulking. He loves his armchair.

Also, there is no way I wanna be stuck behind those SC Project pipes on his Speedy all weekend. They are really loud - I'll get a headache!
 
What a waste of a night. Went up to the Clipsal 500 track for the concert and fireworks show, there was a line up at the gate to get in, and it just disappeared over the hill.

So, we decided to head up to Mt Lofty and watch it from there. The amount of people there all pushing and shoving to get a view of the fireworks was horrid, so we left and came back home.

Oh well, I'll just sit here and indulge in some Woodstock Bourbon and then pass out.

Mikey rang me from windy point tonight, and he said it was all push and shove there as well...hindley street is now full of clipsal crew, attractive bunch that they are!

I got a real decent look at the fireworks as I rode down Anzac highway tonight, on my way to work...

You can have the clipsal, after 10 years of working on pit straight, I am over it, would rather watch it on tv, from the comfort of my lounge room!
