Yeah, torn my calf muscle today, playing FRISBEE at the beach...who does that???

I was just jogging to make the catch and it felt like someone threw an rock and hit me in the calf. I stopped and started to look around to see who the idiot was that was throwing things.

Next step, I collapsed. Ended up at the hospital instead of the beach and walked (I use the term loosely) out on crutches.

I suck...and I am supposed to be going camping in a week and a half. :(

Oh well, at least I had fun before it happened lol

I've done similar things a long time ago while partaking in some Bacardi 151 rum drinking! God, that was an awfull and fun weekend in 1987!!! Had to call into work sick on the graveyard shift!!

Steph, keep it iced, elevated, and wrapped as much as you can for the next day or so. And take some ibuprofen. You're totally justified to just sit back and relax with that part elevated.

I'm not a doctor. I'm just old and practice a martial art with a bunch of youngsters, so I'm constantly gettin' dinged...

Yeah, thats what the Doc said, couple weeks on crutches and physio...

So sorry to hear about your frisbee injury, Steph. :( I hope you are up and about soon. The more you rest it now, the quicker you will recover, so be sure to take it easy.

Too bad you weren't skiing, a cast is a babe (male or female) magnet at the lodge.
On the beach, you probably just collect sand.

You know Steph just because you were playing frisbee it is no reason to not gear up ATGATT the second half is soooo important... ;)

Get better soon... or invest in a hammock and portable margarita kit for the camping trip...

well, you should work this to your advantage.....let the kids be your slave labor! And relax!

Sorry to hear this Steph! I'm not sure Mick's advice will help..... but I like it! ;)

Elevate and rotate ice and heat for 20 minutes each a few times a day.

When it starts to feel better, go really easy on it! Start stretching slowly and stop when you feel it pulling at all.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that Steph.

May be more than a margarita and cheese burger in paradise can fix?

Heal up quick!

Edit: does this mean you'll still kick my a$$ in VB Army, or I have a fighting chance?? ;)

No chance lol, now I have nothing to do but mess around on here.

Ouch! If it makes you feel better, my mom did the same thing going down two steps... hope it heals soon and get ready for a NASTY bruise.

Yeah, now that you mention it, the Doc did say not to be shocked when I wake up black and blue from knee to ankle... should be attractive!

Awww Steph, sorry to hear about the injury. I hope you heal up soon! Sounds like a good excuse to lay out in the sun all day and have the kids bring refreshments :)

well it could be worse...I was playing frisbee a couple months ago and my friend tore a ligament in his leg and ended up losing his job over it because he couldnt go in and he just got the job. And all he did was jump to catch it. Hope u feeel better as soon as possible. BEWARE of FRISBEE!!!!

lol i just like seeing the phrase frisbee injury in a post. seriously i hope you feel better. i have done this several times because i work for a police department and when we take off running someone down we pull muscles a lot. no stretching with no warming up with over 38 pounds of gear on situated mostly on your hips will do that lol. and people wonder why cops are so pissed when we have to chase you down. that crap hurts!
