The "Off Topic" thread...

Just had a look through those links! Looks like you live on the edge Wolfman, but then thats what motorcycling is all about, you just seem to take it one step further :D
Especially with taking your bike home and fixing it before heading to hospital! Thats dedication!

Just out of curiosity, are 'sliders' the same as oggynobs?

yeah sliders is yank speak for oggy knobs!

dedication aint the word...more like unhealthy (and expensive) obsession!

I'll concede expensive, but unhealthy? Ok yea maybe that too in your case :D

just had a little run of bad luck......yet to crash through stupidity....and am due for a bit of luck....tyhe motorcycle gods have just been testing me to see whether i am truly up for it! buggers!

Well I crashed through stupidity on my last bike, so *touch wood* lets hope I can hold that record for a while before enlarging it!

Just a FZX250 Zeal, got it pretty cheap and it fared well through my L's and P's, unfortunately its got some undiagnosed engine problem that all the local bike shops say they can -possibly- fix but will be exp and take alot of time.

Battery world wanted $150 for a USA made Yuasa and yam world said a genuine Jap yuasa was $300. WTF !

sounds like someone is quoting prices out their butt.....$300 boys, c'mon, you cant possibly think Mick is that stupid!

:spank:

Thats what they quoted for a genuine one mate, hence the $90 chinese brand, lol

well that's just ridiculous....i got a Yuasa battery for $115 from Battery World only 3 months ago...was for my Ducati...but difference is negligable!

I agree,I think he musta been on something.Battery world were $150 for the fizzer battery.

LOL! That makes sense...prices have gone up a little since the GFC, but not to $300 for a battery, $150 i can understand though....

i would of been rolling out the shop laughing my head off, if they told me $300, not before i asked where they got their "gear" from though! it must be good stuff!

Reminds me of the MCA out on Parramatta Rd, I was in there looking for stuff, couldn't find anything even with their large range so I went to the counter to see if I could get some rear pads for my old bike, I was then told that my old bike had never existed!
Way to impress a customer, especially when I have bought pads for it about 3x before at the dealers nearer to home.

They are reasonably helpful normally, but their range is actually quite bad considering how large the store is.

I've already started wearing a normal winter jacket under my riding jacket, certainly helps alot, although my riding jacked isn't a full length, and doesn't have those nice sealed sleeves and neck area fittings, but at the price I got it for it wasn't bad (its an Ixon)
Anyone got any recommendations on a good winter jacket (good quality, preferably australian made, good price?)

My winter jacket is a cheaper brand, blue dingo off of ebay for $130.It's waterproof and very warm, came with a built in back protector too,I liked it that much I bought their gloves as well.

that's pretty decent price wise, especially with a back protector thrown in, does it have shoulder & elbow armour?
