The "Off Topic" thread...

I don't have any decent machines about atm. Normally would sell similar for about $200 but I have been told I am too cheap and according to the wife I spend too much time on old machines.

If you need help with it tho sing out. I can put whatever you need on that sort of system and have plenty of parts about for upgrades etc.

Also do you guys have any inclination to do a website/email. If so and you register a domain I can offer you free website/email/dns off of my personal server. Hell i can even make the site for yas.

Also if you are thinking of phone and internet you may want to suss out a naked solution and get voip such as nodephone. Will save you heaps in line rental and phone calls. I can help you pick what you need next time we catch up. oh and no I dont make anything for sales but can help with a friends discount if you go to node.

Speaking of which you and I, wolfman, need to catch up about the vid footage still and was thinking about getting your advise about the annoying clutch cable. whilst were at it where is this mysterious shop on morphett street that sells paddock stands?

OMG i must have rode and drove past that place a million times and not seen it.
Fantastic location....excellent street appeal and signage also. I noticed no one knows or has mentioned the name of the place or any staff names....good customer service also i presume.

In all seriousness if they can stay in business, wolfman will certainly do quite well in his new venture.

I will take a look but would rather pay the extra bikkies to support a worthwhile business than get a cheaper price and give money to a bunch of assholes. Ill call Keith tomorrow.

To prove it I did not buy my bike from Peter Stevens! I always feel like I am not welcome in that store. Funny thing is last time I went there was the day I bought my FZ6N and I got the cold shoulder from every sales rep. I suppose there is more money to be made in harleys or from those that ride them.

Most places don't use the internet enough for advertising. I look around on the net first before venturing out. No point in riding to town if it is not open or they dont sell what I want. Also please tell me once your shop going well is going to be open on at least part of a weekend day or remain open later at least one night of the week. I hate the fact that I bought a jacket recently and dont have time to get it replaced as a zip broke as I work the same time the store is open.

mate our shop will most probably be only open nights and weekends to start with!!!!!

and the internet will be our biggest form of advertising...banner ad's on forum's, etc, etc.

ok you lot....got my relacement HJC AC12 Carbon helmet today.....got it for the same price as my first one, which was $630, Which i was pretty happy with, as the recommended retail has gone up $100, to $800, since i bought my first one....

good thing is that i now have a spare liner, already have tinted & an irridium visor for the helmet, and i now have a brand new clear visor...

here's a couple of pics of the exact same replacement helmet for the one that saved my head from serious bother in my recent bingle.....one of the few helmets out there, that have been given a 5 star rating in the sharp helmet ratings, which are worldwide!

Nice, how do you think the HJC match up against Arai and Shoei?
They always get good reviews (except one of their super cheap helmets) and I have one, been thinking about upgrading since I started quite cheap and the wind blowing through can be really unpleasant.

i dunno bout the rest of HJC's helmets, but the AC12 Carbon is loss leading premium product for HJC....and is definitely on a par with the best out there, in terms of protection, can be a bit noisy, but is also very light...

Interesting, I've heard alot of helmets can be noisy, ie any helmets, unless your heads a perfect fit. I've had the same one for years though so don't know any different!
The plastic parts in mine (its a HJC pheonix) rattle around and at speed sound like a police siren!
Is that more a racing helmet because of its lightness?

there are ways to reduce helmet noise....a scarf, or neckaclava are both good for helping keep noise out, as moist of it comes up through the opening at the bottom of the helmet.

WAG54G are pieces of 5h1t.
Seriously.

The amount of capacitors that die in that model is alarming. Specifically the V3 has a tendancy to blow the main power capacitors. Earlier models blew the lan ports first. Internode have had Linksys replace literally thousands of the WAG54G's and as a consequence we simply wont ever resell them any more.

Should work fine until it dies and it certainly will given time then its a bin job.

I thought you bought a modem not that long ago....still have some cheap 625W modems also.
