I am in the middle of painting my windscreen. As soon as I finished the last layer of black, a dang bug hopped into the paint and got stuck. I have never taped off OR spray painted anything IN MY LIFE!!! Why did I EVER get the hair brained idea to try this??? I am just waiting for the black to dry right now before I go and take all the tape off and retape it for the silver.

Did you paint the inside or the outside of the screen? in the pictures it looks like the outside, I believe that the inside is the one that has to be painted.

Edit:never mind, I need glasses :spank:

Now you will need to get new signal mirrors with gray lenses... i'm excited to see your end results... considering painting on a graphic then painting black

I agree, it looks like I painted the outside, but I did paint the inside. Optical illusion.

I was hoping the tuning fork sticker would show through the paint, but it doesn't :(
 
Very nice job Steph!! For someone who hasn't spray painted anything before, this would be a daunting first project! Well done and good on ya for 'going for it'. :thumbup:
 
Now for the silver pics.... After I finished spraying on the silver, I covered the whole back with black, it looked a little hokey with the silver and black. Now....anyone have any patience they can spare? I have to wait about 40 minutes before I can take the tape off and mount it back on Fizz.
 
Finished! What do you guys think? I love it!!

Please take no offense to this (boys especially) it kind of looks like the bike has some eyeshadow and big pretty eyes.

:rof: That's funny, my daughter said the exact opposite. She said..."Eeek now it looks evil, looks like it is glaring at me!"
 
Excellent job Steph! I think it looks great. Can't believe it was your first time spray painting something. Heck of a job! :thumbup::thumbup:

Now you people have me thinking about painting the moles on my 07. :confused:
