    Blinkers dont work!

I had the exact same problem just yesterday, pulled over to check as soon as I realised my indicators weren't working. In my case it was the key, I wasn't paying attention when I turned the ignition on, the key was half way between off and on. Turned the key all the way and that fixed...

    Tire question

My bt 020's have done that too, it's my own fault though for not keeping a close enough eye on tyre pressures. Scalloping is generally caused by low tyre pressures.

Project TRX! A semi faithful restoration! Finished! :)

re: Project TRX! A semi faithful restoration! Finished! Video & photo's now up! :) Do you know of a good parts source for the TRX, mine's under the house for now, she seems to have misplaced her compression and I have been unable to find it. I thought about a second hand motor but I was quoted...

    Dropped my bike today

Easy way I've found is to squat down with the handlebar between your thighs, both hands on the handlebar. If it's on it's left side, then you turn the bars to full lock to the right and visa versa. Keeping your back straight you can now use the muscles in your leg to lift the bike. Make sure...

Rear tire losing traction when braking hard

If you lock up either brake on a motorcycle, release it and then re apply the brake. With practise you will get quite good at it. Without thinking you will be able use all the braking power your bike has and avoid the ambulance ride. Panicking is the enemy, check out Keith Code's school and...

    Mystery noise and vibration

First place I would start with is the rear wheel alignment, drive chain adjustment, and the condition of the drive chain. Could be as simple as a tight spot on the drive chain, presuming it was all put back together nicely and correctly tensioned, which could highlight a tight spot you never...

    drive sprocket LOCK NUT. missing!

Glad you're ok Tony, I've never heard of a lock nut coming off, my old yzf600, trx850 and my current fz6 all have nylon lock nuts, without the locknut washer. I think it's more likely they weren't torqued properly last time the sprocket was changed. I can't remember ever seeing a nylon lock nut...

    Steering - Your Opinion Please

I check my steering head bearing by grabing the very bottom of the fork stanchions and push/pull them back and forth, and slight knock points to bad steering head bearings. Riding with bad steering head bearings makes the steering feel vague, and or, resists turning. Another likely problem is...

Another question for my Aussie friends

What you will need is an "isolation transformer", sometimes they're called "step up" or "step down" transformers. We recently were given a japanese breadmaker (110V) and I got a step up transformer so that it would work on the 240V we have in Australia. The Australian electonics market is a...
