the reason i love my wife comes down to one little word.... DeWalt...
Story: So we decided to repaint our kitchen this weekend, she has off for MLK day tomorrow, and i took a vac day so we would have 3 days to get it done. So it starts off new paint.. then its.. new paint and have someone come out to do the floor.. then its new paint.. floor, new hardware for the cabinets... then its new paint, floor, hardward, paint the cabinets. and of right now its, new floor (that i now have to install) new paint, paint cabinets, new hardware for the cabinets, new trim and possibly crown molding, and new light fixtures...
So in one of our many trips to the depot, i happened to see a flyer for power tools on sale. right now i just have some Skil power tools, they are only 4 years old, but the batts are starting to give way, and i would like to have a saws all sometime soon... So i took a good look at the flyer.. Dewalt, my weakness.
Dewalt, 18v kit. drill, saws all, circular saw and a cheapo flashlight (which they seem to throw in just to fill space) all tucked in a nice dewalt hard carry case.. with 2 batts and a charger.. yummy...
So just to add to the suspense a little the drill itself is $200+ same for the saws all and circular saw.. then add $60 for each batt.. and your looking at $720 for the everything separate. minus the case and cheapo flashlight (which im sure is still $60 or so) The normal selling price for this bad boy is $499... and it was on sale for $379!! DUDE?! WHAT?!? maybe i have not been looking that hard in the past, but i have never seen a price that low.. i think i paid like $250 for my cheapo Skil package. and this is dewalt..
Im no contractor, but i though it was an amazing price, so amazing that i thought it would be worth it to bring it up to the wife, knowing the result could end in some sort of bruising, or even possibly a hospital visit. And to my surprise, after about 28 "no's" maybe 14 or so "your p!ssing me off's" and a few "im just ignoring you now" she actually gave in!! I have to work a few over time hours to make up for it (since we did go over a little in the kitchen and the new tools didnt help any) but im game!
So we go and pick em up... two sets left.. sweeet! and as im looking at it.. a bonus! the drill is not a drill at all .. its a hammer drill.. holy crap, i totally peed my pants right there and the store and ran around like a kid at chucky cheese. i was so happy that from what im told i wouldnt let go of the set for the cashier to ring them and cried a little when my wife pull them out of my hands.. :rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon: hehe:Flash::Flash::Flash:
