Can someone (or a few someones would be even better) measure the distance from the widest part of the tire to the outside of the swing are for me? As far as alignments go, I believe the string method would probably be the best that I've heard so far, but I was curious as to how accurate this would be.
I've included some pics for reference. There is about a 1/2 inch difference between the right and left side on my bike, and looking at the axle it is off a bit. I have not tried to align it, the dealer put the tire on for me about 8000 miles ago and that was the last time the rear wheel was off. I was noticing the tire was wearing more on one side then the other, which caused me to look at the wheel alignment. If the wheel is misaligned in the direction I believe it to be, this would account for the tire wear as it's worn more on the left side and the wheel may be turned a bit to the right.
Thanks to anyone who replies with pics!!
