The "Off Topic" thread...

Yeah. First thing though, I gotta work out why my clutch is so stiff. Going to try to get some lubricant down the cable... see if that helps at all.

:)

Might be time for a new cable, is about 4 years old now, has probably goit lubrication issues due to fatigue, stretching, and maybe a bit of internal rust.

?

Yeah, maybe. I'll try some Lube first, if that doesn't work, a new cable will be the next thing.

Did you see http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/11744-scorpio-i900-install.html#post148067

One guy has put the antenna on his airbox to get it vertical... Just a question of whether the heat from the motor would affect it.

:)

Thanks for the link...but in the manual it says to keep it away from metal. There's a dirty big petro tank right above that airbox!

I had that problem with my cbr Dave, next thing I knew the damn thing snapped when I was slowing down for the South rd / Anzac highway intersection, lane splitting at the time !Had just enough momentum to get between the cars and into that servo that aint there anymore.I would just go and get a new one,Honda world didn't stock them either ,had to wait 3 days for one,not sure about Yam world though.

oooerrrr.

I better give Yammy world a ring :(
Don't want that happening to me.

Cheers Mick.

:)

Yep, i reckon it's better to be safe, than sorry, clutch cables have a tendency to break very quickly, once they have reached their use by date!

Who wants to go for a swim.....well boys, with the weather warming up, and seeing as i have a pool which does not get used nearly enough, i am erxtending an invitation to all of you boys & your family's in SA, to come and use my pool for a dip whenever you like...i dont necerssarily have to be home.

If your interested, let me know via pm, or if you wanna come down on the spur of the moment, give me a call, and let me know.

Got the clutch cable, just let the bike cool down a bit and I'll be fitting it. I do think it's ready to snap, seems to be getting stiffer every time I ride it.

Got a compliment from one of the service guy's there when I started the bike up when leaving too..

Yammy World also have one of the 5Mp Hero cam's on the counter too.. Same price as what I've seen on the net... $349 including a 2GB SD card.

Those little camera's are very tempting....pick it up everytime i go in there, and think about getting one, think i will try and make a tank mount like Mike has made first though, as it is a lot cheaper using my Digital camera which has 680 x 420 resolution anyway...which IMHO is good enouh.

Thanks for reminding me Dave! :spank:

Glad you got a new clutch cable, looks like we are both going to be working on our bikes tonight...just about to head out and get that replacement engine cover now.

Hehe, I made one up similar to Mike's yesterday when I was waiting for him to rock up yesterday, just need to get a longer bolt to go into the fuel-cap surround, I haven't got one with the same thread that's long enough.

Thanks for reminding me Dave! :spank:

No worries, that's what mates are for :rof:

Might drop past shortly Dave, see what you did, am justy leraving on my "Shopping expedition" now, far out it's getting warm out, just went out to warm up the bike, and move the car, am sweating profusely now....thank someone for mesh jackets with armour!

Yeah, looks like I'll be working on it for a while. Didn't realise how much crap you have to remove just to get the clutch cable out. Still, better than paying the theives at Yammy world $90 an hour to do it.

Just started putting it back together. Why do they put 2 x 90 degree steel bits about 6" long ... 1 on each end of the cable... Arggghhhhhh!!!!

Edit....Just noticed what time you posted this... Man... I've been at this for too long :rof:.

Well bugga me. Just went for a short ride, and the difference in the gearbox is mind-blowing. Feels like a new bike... again. If everything you do to the bike makes it feel like this, I might have to get a second job and start the \"Wolfman\" treatment on my baby :rof:

The thing is so quiet now, Motul 5100 gets the big  from me. Amazing what a bit of decent oil will do.

:)

Gets a HUGE  from me to , i was just about to put a post up reviewing the Motul 7100 i put in my baby :D..... Try that one next mate my box is soooooo smooth , no clunk not even 1st to 2nd......Glad a managed to score a discount on the price though  , it is dear stuff but if it keeps impressing me like this its well worth it........I also noticed it gets upto operating temp quicker but this arfternoon it stayed alot cooler in the traffic
