The "Off Topic" thread...

hehe, I'm thinking the Full HD Plasma, but the missus said she wants an LCD. Have heard all the arguments for and against both of them... I think it's all about the same nowadays.

The lesser HD LCD is the same price as the Full HD Plasma.. I'll go with that argument :rof: See how far I get huh!!! :rof:

:)

Hey Jamie, when you're not busy, I got the stuff to make the camera mounts... Probably look at sometime tomorrow afternoon I'll start hacking into it and see what pops out :rof:

:)

I am available tomorrow afternoon, no kids, no meds, can bring BEER! Just text me a time when you know what you are doing.

PS: Get the Plasma!!!!!

Hahahaha.. "Mum" isn't that old (58), but I set up a HD box for her a couple of days ago... First question... "How do I make it work?"
Spent the next 30 mins walking her through all the channels, and making sure she put's the tv set (old CRT) on "A/V", or she'll just get normal analogue crap.

:)

Yeah, but there are supposed to be 5 more sd and 10hd channels coming soon.CH1 is going to all sport and Ten are bringing in another hd channel as are 7,9,2 and SBS.

EDIT: as per your link I missed, lol

I hope Ten's "all-sport" channel does the MotoGP better than this year. I'm getting rid of Foxtel, so I want something as good as they did.

Maybe I'll just head down to Jamie's house every second Sunday night...lol

Been thinking of getting the subscription package from Motogp.com... Dunno yet.

:)

I can say from experience that the plasmas ARE better for sports etc and the LCDs use a poofteenth of the power. Decent sized Plasma uses 900watts or more. If you have your TV on a lot then the lecky bill will soar. I definitely like the plasmas though.

I'm probably going to get a better cam for my riding. The Hero ones look pretty good to me.

More channels of TV means more carp to wade through, to find something you don't really want to watch but will anyway...lol.:D

Beer and mods......Hmmm...good luck with that...lol.

I think that gets me up to date...except...

Ahh, The old 07-08 are poonsie bikes chestnut...lol.
Well allow me to retort....:Flip:Ahh, that's better...lol
.:D

Isn't your bike fast on it's way to becoming an 07-08 Jamie?:rof::rof:

Yup, Foxtel's telecast is the same, the entire race without adverts, and even do the podiums and speeches before ads... and that's for all 3 classes, not just the MotoGP, then highlights of the 250 and 125 classes... Channel Ten... YOU SUCK!!!!

:)

LMAO... Exactly how much is a poofteenth :rof:

I have 2 LCD's, and I love 'em, never had any trouble with them... I like the idea of the Full HD Plasma. They all look the same, maybe I'll just get that, and tell the missus that it's an LCD :D

:)

Hey Poofteenth is pretty much a real word now through common usage:thumbup:.:D

It's shorter to say than, "a fraction of" although, as I just found out, a lot harder to type.:spank:
